Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with customers (pre-sale and post-sale) to design and build people-centric feedback and performance management strategies
• Contribute to survey question design sessions and lead results review sessions with a variety of clients, from HR professionals within larger companies to CEOs at smaller businesses
• Work with client data and survey outcomes to identify the most valuable themes and stories to help our clients improve their culture and business outcomes
• Generate actionable and predictive insights from HR data sets, including engagement surveys, lifecycle surveys (onboarding to exit), and individual/team effectiveness feedback
• Coach clients on aligning business strategy with performance management and employee feedback approaches using the Culture Amp platform
• Support and build domain expertise for our customer facing teams through coaching and training

What do you (ideally) bring to the team?
• Master’s or PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, HR/Business Analytics or related field
• 3+ years of applied experience working within an organization and/or consulting to organizations. Enterprise experience is highly preferred
• At least 2 years of applied experience working with surveys throughout the employee lifecycle (candidate, onboarding, engagement, inclusion, exit) and/or 360-type feedback processes
• Experience designing, implementing and analyzing surveys, as well as presenting results to executives and HR leaders
• Performance management system implementation experience not necessary but highly preferred
• Strong presentation skills especially when explaining data and connecting it to potential actions
• Basic knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages such as R or SPSS; moderate knowledge of statistics and basic knowledge of predictive analytics techniques preferred

JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President Finance provides financial leadership to the Managed Select Brand portfolio in the U.S. and will be a key resource for its owner community. Responsibilities include leading the operating and capital budgeting process, forecasting, consolidated reporting, owner services, operations analysis, and overall responsibility in all financial operating activities including achieving profit, cash flow, and key performance goals for MSB MxM hotels.
The Vice President will provide financial leadership to the 300 hotels, with $2.44B in total revenue across U.S. MSB MxM hotels, ensuring operational efficiencies, financial controls and key performance goals are met, as well as assuming a lead role in developing and implementing key finance and regional reporting processes and ensuring consistency and best practices across the Continent for MSB MXM and in supporting other essential systems and market finance initiatives. The incumbent drives such key finance initiatives and ensures system-wide implementation of programs consistently across brands in order to align execution and business results with MI and the MSB MxM hotels in the US strategy.
This resource is actively involved in the development and sustainment of effective owner relations and communications strategies in the US for MSB MxM hotels. He/She needs to build relationships with current and prospective ownership groups through clear lines of communication, better opportunities for input, and a higher level of responsiveness to their concerns and needs.
This resource will have an Asset Management lens and provide support for larger portfolio owner groups along with having a lead role and partnering with the Area Vice Presidents / Area Directors on the smaller owner groups. He/she also supports asset management activities and partners with the Corporate HQ and regional teams in workouts to ensure MI meets its contractual obligation and manages results to minimize MI’s credit enhancement/notes receivable exposure. VP will partner with the appropriate business and finance resources in the continent and Corporate HQ, as appropriate, to translate business needs and opportunities into financial strategies that maximize returns and mitigate risk. This role will collaborate with MSB stakeholders including the Development team to proactively assess opportunity areas to grow the MxM MSB portfolio.
The Vice President must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying profitable opportunities, anticipating challenges, and devising and executing strategies to deliver against current and future priorities, thereby strengthening Marriott’s competitive advantage through excellence in financial management.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION
Provides strategic and proactive financial functional leadership to maximize value and reduce exposure for the Company for existing portfolio and in the development of new hotel projects across
and MxM MSB portfolio.
Strategic partner to MSB key stakeholders to develop and proactively assess performance and identify risks to meet balance scorecard metrics. Establish portfolio-wide guardrails and financial controls
Leads efforts to identify and assess cost efficiencies and provide thought leadership and financial analyses supporting operational, management and strategic business decisions.
Partner with the MSB MXM AVPS and MSB development teams with a goal of growing the MSB MXM business by proactively meeting with prospective and existing owners and explaining the benefits of the managed business.
Partners with appropriate resources to ensure smooth development/pre-opening process, including developing pre-opening and working capital budgets. Leads and connects with property team on pre-opening activities relating to finance and accounting. Protects Marriott’s interest and surfaces potential issues early in the process and manages financial exposure with notes/guarantees.
Leads the financial governance and strategic planning across 300 hotels impacting owners.
Oversight of safeguarding all aspects of the portfolio’s financial controls. Balance with continent priorities and initiatives.
Strengthen owner relations through overseeing building and enhancement of meaningful tools, resources, reporting & analysis.
Drive financial resolution for major challenges in the MxM MSB portfolio; Lead to balance financial priorities balancing risk vs impact.
Builds “Owner Preference” by:
Directly supporting the business objectives of Marriott’s larger portfolio owner groups in concert with the SVP, Finance
Owns the management of the annual operating and capital budgets for the large portfolio owners along with gaining alignment and approval
Providing proactive oversight throughout the year for the operating results and execution of the capital plans for the large portfolio owners
Defining and building a relationship and account management approach / mindset between MSB AVPs / ADs and small-portfolio owners to engage and address the unique demands and requirements of Marriott’s hotel owner community
Guide to deliver innovative strategies to increase owner preference, drive operating performance in the MSB managed portfolio, and develop/deepen relationships with current and prospective owners
Enhance processes to create value for owner asset and MI (fees) by balancing owner financial objectives (as it relates to cash flow through and NOI) and new use of capital to support ROI opportunities
Strengthen owner relationships through clearer lines of communication and high level of engagement in challenges, needs, and requests.
Liaison with Development and Operations on development/conversion opportunities for current and prospective owners
Use financial data, data trends and market information to accurately assess performance, identify risks and deliver quality solutions to critical business issues.
Use a proactive approach to optimize results and monitor implementation to assure success and accountability across the businesses, continents and brands.
Oversee all aspects of the Business Planning Process: LRP, Budgeting & Forecasting, Capex processes, Risk Assessment, annual statement of operations, Compliance with tax, accounting regulations, audits and Reporting & Analyses supporting the U.S. MSB MxM hotels, including communications, approvals and tools.
Provide capital policy interpretation and strategic consulting on capital matters including the modeling of current and long-term escrow cash positions and fund adequacy
Provide guidance on management agreement drafts to ensure viability of capital expenditure requirements and operational commitments.
Collaborate with the HQ Global Compliance in the development and continuous review of capital/operating policies. Ensure that policies address the evolving role of owners in the capital expenditure processes. Monitor compliance and ensure that strong internal controls are in place
Champion leadership development and workforce planning priorities by personally assessing, selecting, retaining and developing diverse, high- caliber talent that can lead the organization today and strengthen the leadership bench for the future. Work with Human Resources to anticipate future talent needs based on business growth plans and allocates resources appropriately.
Partner with Human Resources leadership to strengthen the organization performance by ensuring effective structures, processes, jobs, and performance management systems, along with the “right” people, are in place to support the strategic priorities of the business.
Set goals and expectations for direct report using the Leadership Performance Acceleration (LPA) and holds staff accountable for successful performance. Coach team by providing specific feedback to improve performance. Conduct annual performance appraisal with direct report.
Oversee the review and interpretation of management (and related) agreements to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Partner with various departments (OFS, Global Asset Management, Legal, etc.) in the development and execution of contract workouts and amendments and ensure appropriate treatment of deal changes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
BS/BA in accounting, finance or related field. CPA or MBA a plus.
Experience as Director of Finance strongly preferred
10 years of relevant accounting/finance experience; minimum of 5 years’ experience in management role; demonstrated success leading and developing a strong organization and workforce in a complex, service-intensive, deadline driven environment.
