Essential Job Functions:
• Provides administrative and clerical support to the Dean of Online and Graduate Studies, Dean of Graduate Enrollment and Business Development, and Scott Center staff.
• Responds to phone inquiries; greets all who visit the offices; and delivers service in a way that reflects positively upon the departments and the university.
• Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with colleagues, staff, administrators, students, and the general public.
• Manages student workers.
• Prepares correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and documents as requested.
• Uses the institutional database (Colleague), Self-Service, Slate, Informer, PowerBI, and other tools to access relevant records and information, generate reports, and analyze data.
• Makes travel arrangements, as needed, for Scott Center staff.
• Plans and manages enrollment events for Scott Center recruiting efforts.
• Supports events for the Scott Center, including those in the evenings or on weekends.
• Performs general office duties including, faxing and scanning, ordering office supplies, filing and distributing mail, and maintaining a clean and professional office and workspace.
• Submits purchase order requisitions and tracks expenditures in monthly budget reports.
• Submits and follows through on work orders, and coordinates campus services necessary for the effective operation of the programs.
• Maintains course syllabi on shared drives for AU Online faculty.
• Initiates adjunct faculty contracts by providing required information to Academic Affairs and colleges, as appropriate.
Essential Job Requirements:

Education:
• High school diploma is required; bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience:
• Previous administrative/clerical experience in an office setting is required; experience in higher education is preferred.
Skills:
• Proficient computer knowledge, including strong word processing, spreadsheet, and database software skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong customer service orientation. Ability to interact with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and parents.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
Physical Requirements:

Education:

Experience:
• Experience in higher education is important. Experience in admissions, sales, or advising.

Skills:

Position Purpose: The School of Health Science at Aurora University invites applications for a full-time, clinical-track Assistant Professor of Human-Animal Studies. The candidate will be instrumental in furthering the Human-Animal Studies program's objective of providing students with outstanding classroom and experiential learning opportunities to become highly competent and productive professionals. The candidate will possess experience and knowledge in multiple aspects of the human-animal bond. This position is a 9-month academic appointment with the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon the need and availability of funds, beginning fall of 2023.

Essential Job Functions: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses that span the Human-Animal Studies major as well as engage in research and service projects that will strengthen the university community. The successful candidate will also work well in a highly collaborative departmental environment and provide service to the university. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Faculty typically teach three courses per term and have opportunities for service and professional growth and development. The successful candidate will have experience working with animals in a professional environment involving the Welfare and Bonding and/or the Animal Assisted Therapy track of the major.

Education: Applicants must have an earned master's degree in Animal Science or a relevant field by the appointment date. Doctorally prepared candidates are preferred and ABD candidates will be considered as well. Current certifications related to the field are encouraged, as well as prior teaching experience.

Experience: Industry experience and teaching experience preferred. The ability to work with animals and students in hands-on practice is necessary.

Skills: Demonstrate commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. Demonstrated effective written, oral communication, and/or presentation skills. Commitment to staying current in the field. Mentoring undergraduate students.

Physical Requirements: Ability to interact with individuals, either in person or via technology. Ability to manage animals on campus. Ability to be physically present in class and during office hours. Ability to demonstrate physical activities relevant to the profession.
