The candidate shall monitor catechists to ensure they register, complete the course, and become certified per AMS policies utilizing the AMS Catechist Manual as a reference guide. Provide orientation for new volunteer staff members in facilities, funding, religious education policies, and available resources. CREC will ensure all volunteers and additional staff complete all in processing procedures required by the Chapel Staff. Hold quarterly planning meetings with the CRE committee. Contingencies must be in place to execute these planning meetings through video/teleconferencing software (i.e. Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.).
• 3. Organize at least two volunteer teacher-training events each year, one in the fall and one in the spring.
• 4. Coordinate the annual Sunday School Christmas program when such a program is deemed necessary or desirable by the Catholic Chapel Community.
• 5. Schedule and organize the Catholic VBS in consultation with the Catholic Priest. Recruit volunteer teachers and staff and order the appropriate materials with CTOF when such a program is deemed necessary by the Catholic Chapel Community.
• 6. The CREC shall visit each class. If CRE classes are done virtually because of chapel closure or to accommodate those who cannot attend in person, a weekly visit on a virtual CRE platform (Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.) will still be required.
• 7. Maintain continuity and Community Group records. Desk, computer, and basic administrative supplies are provided by the chapel. Attend all regular meetings of the Catholic Pastoral Advisory Council and Catholic Pastoral Staff. Submit all pertinent data from special events/programs and submit to the faith group chaplain for after-action reports as required. To include a roster of volunteer Sunday school staff, monthly enrollment and attendance for all programs, and any additional information required by the Chapel Staff.
• 8. Maintain the Catholic RE office and storeroom in a clean, orderly, and safe manner. Using appropriate funding, maintain stock of expendable supplies and procure supplies as needed for the CRE program. Submit funds request as required for support of the CRE program to the Catholic Chaplain and monitor the handling of all funds received in the CRE program to ensure compliance with applicable directives.
• 9. Generate all publicity for the RE program: RE announcements, flyers, bulletin inserts, events guide and calendar. Must obtain approval from the Delta Chaplain before distributing. Produce a quarterly CRE newsletter, bulletin, or other document (physically and electronically) detailing current curriculum offerings, learning objectives and upcoming events.
• 10. Plan, coordinate and execute an annual event to honor and recognize the volunteer staff to include Catechetical Sunday, and or an end of the year event using Chapel Tithes and Offering Funds (CTOF).
• 11. Within 10 days of start date, coordinate with the Archdiocese for the Military Services the contract start and end dates, to request access to monthly e-Newsletters, and participating in the AMS Catechist Talk Facebook group.
• 12. Within 30 days of notice of award, in consultation with the Catholic Priest, develop and submit an annual calendar of events, an estimated appropriated funds (APF) budget, and an annual religious education curriculum timeline to the Delta Chaplain as determined by local instructions and procedures. The CREC will ensure that respective coordination occurs to include completing all appropriate facility and budget authorization forms prior to event or activity to prevent schedule conflicts. Any deliverables will be coordinated with the Chapel Staff member overseeing the event or activity.
Special Tasks:
• Organize/conduct religious education monthly classes.

• When required, coordinate the annual Religious Education Christmas program.
• Participate in at least one continuing education or professional development event each year.

The candidate shall monitor catechists to ensure they register, complete the course, and become certified per AMS policies utilizing the AMS Catechist Manual as a reference guide. Provide orientation for new volunteer staff members in facilities, funding, religious education policies, and available resources. CREC will ensure all volunteers and additional staff complete all in processing procedures required by the Chapel Staff. Hold quarterly planning meetings with the CRE committee. Contingencies must be in place to execute these planning meetings through video/teleconferencing software (i.e. Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.).
• 3. Organize at least two volunteer teacher-training events each year, one in the fall and one in the spring.
• 4. Coordinate the annual Sunday School Christmas program when such a program is deemed necessary or desirable by the Catholic Chapel Community.
• 5. Schedule and organize the Catholic VBS in consultation with the Catholic Priest. Recruit volunteer teachers and staff and order the appropriate materials with CTOF when such a program is deemed necessary by the Catholic Chapel Community.
• 6. The CREC shall visit each class. If CRE classes are done virtually because of chapel closure or to accommodate those who cannot attend in person, a weekly visit on a virtual CRE platform (Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.) will still be required.
• 7. Maintain continuity and Community Group records. Desk, computer, and basic administrative supplies are provided by the chapel. Attend all regular meetings of the Catholic Pastoral Advisory Council and Catholic Pastoral Staff. Submit all pertinent data from special events/programs and submit to the faith group chaplain for after-action reports as required. To include a roster of volunteer Sunday school staff, monthly enrollment and attendance for all programs, and any additional information required by the Chapel Staff.
• 8. Maintain the Catholic RE office and storeroom in a clean, orderly, and safe manner. Using appropriate funding, maintain stock of expendable supplies and procure supplies as needed for the CRE program. Submit funds request as required for support of the CRE program to the Catholic Chaplain and monitor the handling of all funds received in the CRE program to ensure compliance with applicable directives.
• 9. Generate all publicity for the RE program: RE announcements, flyers, bulletin inserts, events guide and calendar. Must obtain approval from the Delta Chaplain before distributing. Produce a quarterly CRE newsletter, bulletin, or other document (physically and electronically) detailing current curriculum offerings, learning objectives and upcoming events.
• 10. Plan, coordinate and execute an annual event to honor and recognize the volunteer staff to include Catechetical Sunday, and or an end of the year event using Chapel Tithes and Offering Funds (CTOF).
• 11. Within 10 days of start date, coordinate with the Archdiocese for the Military Services the contract start and end dates, to request access to monthly e-Newsletters, and participating in the AMS Catechist Talk Facebook group.
• 12. Within 30 days of notice of award, in consultation with the Catholic Priest, develop and submit an annual calendar of events, an estimated appropriated funds (APF) budget, and an annual religious education curriculum timeline to the Delta Chaplain as determined by local instructions and procedures. The CREC will ensure that respective coordination occurs to include completing all appropriate facility and budget authorization forms prior to event or activity to prevent schedule conflicts. Any deliverables will be coordinated with the Chapel Staff member overseeing the event or activity.
Special Tasks:
• Organize/conduct religious education monthly classes.
• Organize at least two volunteer teachertraining events each year.
• When required, coordinate the annual Religious Education Christmas program.
• Participate in at least one continuing education or professional development event each year.

Training and Certifications:

Candidate may be authorized travel expenses consistent with the substantive provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) if the SLD 45/HC has appropriated funds available and the meeting, conference, and training would benefit the Catholic religious education program.
2. Within 10 days of start date, the CREC will complete a current Safe Environment training as called for in the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, article 13 and military instructions and regulations.
3. Within 10 days after award, the CREC will review and sign chapel non-disclosure agreement. Privileged communication may be inadvertently overheard or received through phone calls and conversations. The CREC must protect all confidential and privileged communication.
4. Accomplish Catechist training through AMS partners University of Dayton Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) and Catholic Distance University, encourage participation in the Catechetical Methodology Course through VLCFF.
