Job Summary:
Based on provided designs and components, construct, erect, install, and repair custom storage systems and accessories using laminate wood, edge-banding, hardware, and other materials, requiring your skills with hand tools and power tools. Training is provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform skilled and semi-skilled carpentry work to install custom storage systems such as closets, cabinets, offices, and other spaces in the home or commercial buildings.
• Utilize company-provided CAD drawings/blueprints to properly and efficiently install systems.
• Assemble and install systems of varying complexity.
• Assists in the removal and installation of materials in customer homes.
• Maintain shop tools and equipment in safe working order. Tools are provided
• Install systems independently or with team members depending on the size of the job.
• Provide a high level of customer service for in-home installations.
• Install materials safely and maintain safety standards at all times.
• Responsible for driving to and from customer sites and maintaining company-provided vehicles in a safe manner. Report any vehicle problems to the company immediately.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
• Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• High School diploma
• Experience with common hand and power tools
• Trade or vocational school experience desirable
• Cabinetry or carpentry skills desirable
• Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills
• Able to provide a high level of customer service

POSITION SUMMARY

This associate shall be responsible to ensure appropriate execution of day to day operations on how a project is managed after Client awards a job to Mariani Landscape. This associate interacts with the design team, construction staff, and administrative support on a regular basis and other departments throughout the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.

· Process and document permit requirements for the given project.

· Perform thorough scope review on the project, evaluate subcontractor bids with design team and produce bid comparisons.

· Review bid comparisons with PM coordinator before awarding.

· Review and complete project estimate for Design Director’s presentation to the client.

· Prepare a project schedule with assistance from Construction Manager and Design Director.

· Review and approve subcontractor agreements and Project Directory.

· Help commence construction work on the site with a Project Kick-off Meeting with the project team. Establish project specific goals for quality, safety and timely completion.

· Process project required submittals on a timely basis. Upon receipt of shop drawings and samples for approval from subcontractors, PM shall submit these to the Project Architect for approval. Once approval is secured, PM shall forward approval to the subcontractors.

· Oversee project installation details to ensure end result will exceed client expectations and enhance Mariani Landscape’s reputation.

· Evaluate Subcontractor requests for clarifications on construction details, construction means and methods. Request resolution from the Project Architect if necessary. Process and Document “Request for Information” RFIs. Document and distribute Architect’s responses to RFIs.

· Initiate layout and verify grades with subcontractors. Gain Design Director’s approval on layout.

· Schedule and run periodic coordination meetings and schedule meetings with subcontractors and design team. Document and resolve items discussed. Distribute updates to Project Schedule to the project team.

· Schedule and run periodic Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings to discuss project schedule, monthly billings, changes to scope of work if any, construction quality, etc.

· Ensure efficient communication with Project Manager Coordinator on critical matters pertaining to scope of work on the project, construction progress, construction budget and project goals.

· Assist in managing communication between administrative departments, including Administrative Support and Accounting. Participate in weekly departmental and training meetings.

· Works with the administrative support team to ensure accurate and timely process flow.

· Write Proposed Change Order Requests to the Client or Client’s Representative, if requested.

· Process change order documentation for subcontractors when a proposed change request is approved by Client or Client’s Representative.

· Maintain a change order Log for proposed and approved changes on the project.

· Review & approve subcontractor pay requests. Work with the billing specialist to produce monthly pay requests to the Client. Provide periodic feedback to Design Director on account status.

· Maintain relationship with clients assigned to them through the installation process, pulling in team members such as the Design Director as needed.

· Communicate requested design changes and/or concerns on project details to the Design Director in a timely manner.

· Communicate with Production Coordinators regarding subcontractor issues which may affect scheduled planting work in a timely manner.

· Create a Punch List covering nonconforming or incomplete items. Distribute this punch list to Project team. Monitor completion of corrective work required.

· Coordinate timely project inspections from local authorities. Issue notifications prior to inspections as required.

· Issue project closeout notifications. Process project closeout requirements. Prepare a closeout submittal for the Client to include As-built drawings, Warranty Letters, Operating and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, fully signed off Punch List, etc.

· Arrange for Design Director to certify substantial completion of the project.

· Work independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring, as well as ongoing projects.

· Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet internal and external client expectations.

· Ensure accuracy of all paperwork, including, time-off requests, and other necessary information.

· Arrive being prepared for each work day on time.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participate in and contribute to Mariani initiatives.

2. Assist in the orientation/training of new Team Members.

3. Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments.

4. Recommend process improvements and areas to improve our service offerings to clients.

5. Participate in other department and business functions as needed (i.e. the snow removal process in emergencies, holiday retail, administrative support, etc.).

6. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position is responsible for assigning, reviewing, and checking work of other employees.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree

Field of Major Study : Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or Project Management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or other relevant field required.

2. At least 2 years professional experience required, preferably in a project management or landscape architecture role.

3. Demonstrate knowledge of landscape terminology, plant materials, applicable construction materials, and installation techniques.

4. Ability to work in a team environment, including taking direction and constructive feedback from team members, as well as providing feedback to other team members.

5. Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with external clients and Mariani associates on a consistent basis.

6. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.

7. Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.

8. Demonstrate working knowledge of general computer functions and Microsoft Office programs.

9. Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.

10. Previous experience as a Landscape Designer or Project Architect preferred.
