The role
• Provide personal care assistance with daily living
• Assist with the delivery and administration of medication
• Mobility assistance in accordance with resident care plans
• Maintain accurate health care documentation as required
• Encourage all residents to participate in scheduled social activities
• Build relationships with our residents and their families
• Adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines and policies

Skills and Experience
• Minimum of a Cert III in an Aged Care or relevant qualification
• Previous aged care experience highly regarded but not essential
• The ability to work as part of a tight knit team and take direction as required

The role is based at Cerberus Health Centre which is located on HMAS Cerberus at Westernport south-east of Melbourne. We play a key role in ensuring the overall health and wellbeing of all our defence members on base.
The support provided to all defence members and their families on base includes Medical and Surgical Outpatient Services; Pathology; Physiotherapy; Radiology; Pharmacy; Rehabilitation; Mental Health Services; and Dental.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced GP to work from Cerberus Health Centre on a casual basis. This role is great for someone looking for more ad hoc shifts within their working calendar; please note that shifts would only be Monday - Friday, as the centres are not open on weekends.
As a civilian GP within our Health Centre you will:
• Provide General Practice consultations, referrals and health screenings
• Conduct occupational medical and health assessments for all defence personnel to determine employability and deployability
• Provide appropriate medical advice to Base and Unit Commanders regarding employability and deployability of individual members
• Provide advice and support to Base and Unit Commanders on general medical issues such as injury prevention, preventive medicine, disease control and hygiene
• Provide supervision Medical Officers in accordance with FRACGP guidelines

This is an incredible role for GP keen to practice interesting and diverse medicine, or a GP with an interest and passion for occupational health and sports medicine. Overall, this is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the provision of health services to our defence force members while working in a supportive and collegiate team.
About you
Please note: You must be an Australian citizen and be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Defence security and vetting service.
We’re looking for someone who:
• has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• is a personable and passionate GP with a genuine commitment to delivering health outcomes for our defence member
You will also require:
• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA
• A Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration
• Accreditation as a General Practice Trainer at Principal/Lead Supervisor level or commitment to achieving his accreditation
• Post Graduate Qualifications in Health Management or committed to working toward

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide person centered care to our residents with a team of carers. You will utilise your genuine passion for helping others to make a difference to our resident’s quality of life. You will part of a passionate, caring and extraordinary care team.
This is a Full time position with hourly rates ranging between $32.67 to $52.30 plus superannuation subject to your years of experience.

Duties
• Lead a care team to deliver the highest quality, person-first, care to our residents
• Prepare high-quality care plans and assessments
• Maintain quality care documentation
• Ensure safe medication administration, best practice wound care and clinical support for our residents, in line with resident needs and legislative requirements
• Support the Clinical Care Manager with the management and completion of ACFI assessments
• Actively engage in handovers with the Clinical Care Team to ensure continuity of care across shifts
• Adhere to all relevant legislative requirements and quality guidelines

Skills and Experience
• Registration with AHPRA as a Div 1 Registered Nurse – Essential
• Ideally 2 – 3 years’ experience working within the aged care sector
• The ability to work as part of a tight knit team and delegate effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
