The Teacher of General Business Studies assists with implementing the New Jersey Department of Education Core Curriculum Content Standards while providing a well-developed senior and junior high school level program in General Business Studies and Financial Literacy for classified pupils. Incorporates the organizations Mission, Values, and Service Standard Behavior guidelines in the fulfillment of all duties and responsibilities. Responsibilties: A day in the life of a Teacher of Business Studies at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: 1. Provide well-constructed General Business Studies lessons that meet the requirements and the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards in Financial Literacy. 2. Lessons should have clearly stated objectives, builds on previous learning and relates to future lessons that contain a summary of key points. 3. Prepare lesson plans that reflect a logical sequence of learning objectives and activities that reflect the National and New Jersey State curriculum standards in General Business Studies and Financial Literacy. 4. Utilizes a variety of learning materials and activities and utilizes discussion and questioning techniques effectively. 5. Reports accurate and relevant information regarding student progress and achievement at conferences, IEP meetings, drafts PLAAFPs, on report cards, on progress reports and to administrative staff as needed. 7. Participates in school-based committees in developing programming and curriculum for the students. 8. Provides clearly articulated behavioral expectations to students and provides students with feedback and reinforcement regarding their behavior. 9. Applies the school-wide behavior rewards program and behavioral contracts as directed. 10. Enforces school rules consistently and contributes to the maintenance of a safe and orderly environment. 11. • Recruit adjunct faculty, authorize contract preparation, and address contractual issues in consultation with the deans of the School of Continuing Studies and Whitworth School of Business.

Plan and participate in program orientation and support; ensure adjuncts understand and articulate clearly the goals and objectives for each course and confirm that those goals and objectives are consistent with departmental goals; read and approve all syllabi; and provide oversight of adjunct faculty by regular observation in the classroom, in consultation with appropriate academic department chair and dean as appropriate.
• Plan and lead periodic business program faculty meetings to review program and curriculum developments; coordinate and attend regular administrative planning meetings.
• Supervise course evaluation process for faculty, review evaluations and direct intervention strategies for faculty when problems arise or where training is needed.

• Supervise admissions criteria for business students, working with continuing studies advisors to selectively admit students that are academically and personally well-suited for success in the program.
