This is an on-campus, Indianapolis-based position. The successful
candidate will have the following qualities:
• Experience and expertise in the practice and teaching of
HESA.
• Demonstrated commitment to interrupting and eliminating
inequitable outcomes, removing barriers, and creating inclusive
conditions for individuals and communities regardless of any
predictive identities.
• Alignment with the COE Shared Commitments and the mission of
Butler University
• Ability to support learners from a variety of backgrounds with
strong, student-centered, inclusive instructional methods in a
fully online format.
• Understanding of best/emerging practices and professional
competencies in student affairs and the ability to apply that
knowledge in the preparation and mentorship of future
practitioners
We are particularly interested in applicants from identity groups
currently underrepresented in the field of HESA.
Required qualifications: Masters degree in higher education or
student affairs administration or related discipline by contract
start date. Experience and excellence in providing online
instruction; experience with supervision of students in HESA or
related fields; evidence of sustained commitment and action towards
diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational settings;
experience working with students from a variety of cultural and
linguistic backgrounds; and demonstrated skill in communication,
collaboration, and fostering collegiality. Demonstrated record of
success with project management, new program development, and/or
department administration.
Preferred qualifications: Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in
higher education or student affairs administration or related
discipline by contract start date. Professional experience in
higher education or student affairs administration; and expertise
and interest in developing new courses related to centering student
well-being in student affairs and college administration
practice.
Expectations: Teach 9-12 credit hours of courses each semester
across the fully online MS in HESA program depending on
administrative responsibilities; in partnership with our online
program management provider, create and/or adapt courses for online
delivery and coordinate administrative aspects of the program
(e.g., recruitment, retention, scheduling, admission); oversee
adjunct faculty; maintain presence on campus to partner with other
University divisions on multiple aspects of the program;
participate in service to the COE and University.
