BYU–Idaho prefers to hire qualified members of the Church in good standing as authorized under Title 41 CFR § 60-1.5 (a)(6). As a condition of employment, faculty members hold and are worthy to hold a current temple recommend. Faculty abide by university policies and refrain from behavior or expression that seriously and adversely affects the university mission or the Church of Jesus Christ. Faculty who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ must also receive a clearance from the Church Educational System’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office (the ECO) to be eligible to be considered for or continue employment.

Position Summary

Help fulfill the university’s mission by teaching students and providing content expertise in Supply Chain and Operations Management. Background and experience in one or more of the following are desirable: Operations Management, Supply Chain Management especially within the areas of purchasing and supplier management, and Project Management within the area of operational improvement. Additional responsibilities include advising students and other department and university assignments.

Throughout their careers, all BYU-Idaho faculty are expected to actively pursue professional development opportunities in learning and teaching and ongoing scholarly development within their discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Advanced degree required (master’s or doctorate) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field with professional or industry experience. Professional certifications within Supply Chain, Operations, and Project Management organizations will be favorable.

The ability to utilize quantitative and business analytic skills to problem solve and make strategic decisions. In addition to being an Excel master, other preferred skills would include abilities in SQL, VBA, Tableau, and other data analysis tools. Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching.

Work Schedule

Full-time faculty members teach 36 load hours annually, across Fall, Winter, and Spring Semesters; this total includes up to 6 load hours of professional development. In the days immediately preceding and following semesters, faculty members attend meetings, grade papers, perform professional development activities, etc. Semesters last approximately 14 weeks, and annual faculty contracts cover 47.5 weeks.

Position Summary
This is an interest posting seeking qualified individuals to teach marriage and family studies classes in the areas of family relations, marriage skills, parenting, or the proclamation on the family as a part-time faculty member. Additional responsibilities may include advising students.

Adjunct positions are contracted on a semester-by-semester basis.

Conditions of Employment

Upon Hire:
• MMR (vaccination dates (2) or positive titers)
• Hepatitis B (vaccination dates (3) and a Hep B titer ; if Hep B titer is negative and a booster was received, then a repeat of 2 more Hep B vaccinations according to the appropriate timeline will be required and considered “in progress”)
• Varicella/Chicken pox (vaccination dates (2) or positive titer)
• COVID full vaccination requirement (Johnson vaccination date (1) or Moderna/Pfizer vaccination dates (2))
• Drug/Alcohol test (cost is borne by the Nursing department)

• Annual verification of a negative QuantiFERON Gold Tb (a negative chest x-ray will be required if TB is positive)

Upon Expiration:
• Current copy of your American Heart Association Basic Life Support, BLS Provider card
• Tdap (within the last 10 years)
