• Manage a portfolio of private clients with a clear and detailed understanding of each client's needs and philanthropic goals.
• Engage with donors to develop strong relationships and deliver a best in class philanthropic experience.
• Provide a variety of DAF services to donors including advising on international philanthropy trends, changing foreign charity landscape, and opportunities to increase impact.
• Maintain expertise in DAF regulations, high net worth individual philanthropy, philanthropic trends around the globe, and foreign charity needs.
• Collaborate with grants services team members for charity validations for your funds. Must be able to clearly communicate current foreign charity requirements, validation timelines, and any validation-specific information to donors.

Summary: The Payments Associate is responsible for providing primary administrative support for the team’s work in grant cycle management, grantee banking and grant payment issue resolution for CAF America and CAF Canada.
The Payments Associate is a member of the Finance Department and reports to the Grants and Compliance Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:.
Grant Cycle Management
• Generate Grant Suggestion Reports (GSRs) to include donor fund suggestions and Donor Advised Gifts (DAGs) grants eligible for approval.
• Distribute GSRs for review, make corrections as needed; send to appropriate staff for approval.
• Coordinate with relevant staff to resolve questions/issues about grant suggestions to ensure timely granting of funds each week.
• Approve grant transactions in the database after approval by the applicable level of authority - Vice-Presidents (up to $25K), President/CEO (up to $250K), and the Board Chair (above $250K), as applicable.
• Approve grant transactions for CAF Canada in the database after approval by the applicable level of authority - Vice-Presidents (up to $25K), President/CEO (up to $250K), and the Board Chair (above $250K), as applicable.
• PLEASE ADD SIMILAR USING THE CANADA APPROVAL AMOUNTS
• Create wire order files for review and upload for wire transfer; troubleshoot issues with upload files as needed.
• Create grant expedite files as needed.
• Assist the Finance Team with questions relative to grant payments.
• Beneficiary Bank Detail & Grant Payment Issue Administration
• Track payment issues relating to post-transaction wire activity.
• Support Grants Officer in resolving case issues through coordination and communication
• Track grant payments withheld from the wire order.
• For grant payments held from the wire order, support Grants & Compliance Officer in resolving the issues to promote timely release of the funds.
• Work with the Grants & Compliance Officer to support miscellaneous CAF America staff needs including requests to:
• Recall grant payments
• Generate good faith letters
• Respond to grantee SWIFT message requests
• Provide current grant payment status information
• Create and send beneficiary upload files with charity bank details to create beneficiary profiles in the system in preparation for future wire transfers.
• Send urgent beneficiary upload files to resolve payment issues as needed.
• Coordinate to collect missing information and resolve issues with upload files.
General Administration
• Provide ongoing administrative support to the Grants & Compliance team.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Finance team management.
