We have an exciting opportunity within the Cambridge English Propositions team.
Our mission is to contribute to society through the pursuit of education, learning, and research at the highest international levels of excellence.
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
About the role
As Cambridge Dictionary Engagement Product Owner, you will work closely with members of a highly collaborative, agile, and ambitious international team to support and enable significant business growth and transformation of the Cambridge Dictionary website as a product itself and as a driver of new business for the emerging Direct to Learner (D2L) sector.
As a leader on the D2L... product management team, you will be responsible for the development and specification, creation and delivery of content, features, and products that support and increase existing revenue via engagement on the Cambridge Dictionary website, and that lead to new revenue such as subscription offerings.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues in product management and with the D2L strategic leadership in product ideation and experimentation, and review proposals for new features and products for viability.
A key part of your role will be ensuring that the product teams implement best practices in digital product development to manage the workflow for the development, release, and iteration of engaging, non-traditional content and features on the Cambridge Dictionary website.
Want to learn more about this role? Please see the attached job description.
About you
You have a degree in a field relevant to education technology, or proven comparative experience, with an understanding of English Language Teaching pedagogy theory and practice for digital learning environments. You'll have spent five or more years in a product management role which has given you the ability to address a wide range of operational challenges, especially those which require a novel response in preference to following established precedents.
You bring detailed knowledge of consumer-facing educational publishing and of technological innovations which may impact on the development of English learning products in the future. Your knowledge of systems innovations and the implementation issues that go along with them comes from extensive experience of applying complex business change to the practice of delivering learning content.
You are an inspiring manager and strong communicator, with great interpersonal skills with staff and stakeholders alike, whether it's with colleagues, partners, clients, or vendors. You have significant experience of direct and indirect management and motivation of staff with a high level of accountability and multiple competing priorities.
On a practical level, you're a pragmatic and resourceful problem-solver with strong financial management and negotiation skills. You're comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment, taking decisions quickly and identifying resources to move projects forward so they meet or exceed targets.
