Primary Purpose
To act as the primary provider of on-site technical support and assistance for all campus related technology issues. To assist administration, staff and teachers in the daily maintenance of all computers, networks, video systems and other technologies.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required
• Degree in computer related field preferred
• High level certification in network field such as MSCE, CCNP, or CISSP preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technology Support
• Assist campuses in resolving technology related problems, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, peripherals, file servers, networks, and video systems.
• Provide a solution to all technology related problems or inquiries by hands-on resolutions or by obtaining assistance.
• Provide the first line contact between the campus personnel and specialized support by Technology Services.
• Assist in the direction of unresolved problems to the appropriate manager and queue in technology services.
• Responsible for file and server backups and related processes and procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of all requests and problem resolutions.
• Maintain detailed fixed asset records of campus technology.
• Assist with installations of new technology each year.
• Responsible for assisting in the development of district standard processes and practices related to campus support issues.
• Perform equipment transfers from one person to another including any software transfers (i.e. computers handed down).
Other
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
• Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
• Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.

Technical Support
1. Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computers and peripherals, network cabling, and network peripherals throughout the district. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
2. Provide basic personal computer troubleshooting and defined resolution support.
3. Install and configure application and operating system software and upgrades.
4. Assist with the organization and distribution of technology-based material for classroom use.
5. Provide frontline support for Chromebooks and Google Apps.

6. Diagnose and repair network connectivity and hardware issues, including printers, terminals, and personal computers.
7. Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule. Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance.
