Major Responsibilities

Position Requirements

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, New Media, Mass Communication or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in a marketing-related field, with specific focus in social and digital marketing strategy development and execution.

Other Skills
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, SEO, and paid social are a plus.

Requirements:

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor's degree in business administration, non-profit management, public health, hotel/hospitality, social work or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of progressively responsible professional experience with at least two years of direct supervision of staff.

Receiving the COVID-19 vaccination is an essential function of this position and is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our guests who are undergoing cancer treatment. This is a grant-funded position, with funding being secured from BMS (Bristol Myers Squibb) through December 31, 2024.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Managing Director, Healthy Communities, coordinates internal and external health equity activities to leverage the program assets and capabilities of ACS to address and integrate the social, economic, and environmental factors into our work by collaborating with national and community leaders to improve cancer treatment outcomes. Leads and applies knowledge, skills, and methodology in planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring mission initiatives for cancer patients and clinicians with an emphasis on addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) in cancer treatment centers. Serves as expert resource to other ACS and ACS CAN departments and works to ensure appropriate integration of health equity information, practices, and resources into research, programs and services, and advocacy. Represents ACS externally through collaborative initiatives, at national, state, and local levels.

This position will:

Lead, coordinate, and implement the delivery of cancer treatment center leadership teams/projects charged with tackling health equity issues within their organizations and/or within their community. This includes the development and delivery of large in-person and/or virtual trainings and learning collaboratives, and provision of subject matter and technical expertise to these teams in support of the Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) Driving Equitable Cancer Patient Outcomes by Addressing Social Determinants of Health to:
• Support and capacity building to participating cancer care institutions through a competitive grants program to develop SDOH screening and referral best practices, improve processes, and develop metrics for success in addressing patient barriers to treatment and care among individuals with a cancer diagnosis.
• Strengthen cross-sector community health collaboration between participating cancer care institutions and local community resources to improve community-clinical linkages to better address social determinants of health-related needs.
• Create new SDOH screening tools and linkage strategies to aid hospitals and cancer centers with NCI designation and CoC accreditation and to address specific design elements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service’s (CMS) Innovation Center’s new model for payment and service delivery, the Enhancing Oncology Model.
• Model and practice ACS’ health equity principles in the work this position carries out.
