The position will use mastery of analytical skills to solve complex problems utilizing a data driven approach to decision making. The Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Indirect, applies spend category management best practices, tools and techniques in the development and implementation of an integrated strategic sourcing strategy to assesses the overall opportunity within the categories for projects to then engage the stakeholders with facts and data.
This position is responsible for ensuring integration of the sourcing policy across the category and managing strategic sourcing Initiatives utilizing a 7-step strategic sourcing process that includes but is not limited to a rigorous market analysis, supplier risk analysis, and baseline spend analysis, to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that includes RFP execution, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and implementation and monitoring of source recommendations.
The Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Indirect works closely with functional stakeholder management teams, across the Brands (operating lines), Corporate, and suppliers to ensure effective strategy development and implementation. This role requires someone with leadership experience, business savvy, and the ability to influence spend decisions.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Engages and collaborates with Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) stakeholders, Corporate, and sister brands. This position will be responsible for managing the category portfolio and have significant spend oversight in range of $100 - $200M in Opex/CapEx. This involves a) Developing and implementing multi-year growth plans for their categories or “business units”; b) Commercial awareness and continuously managing trends and gaps in the market that impact their category and in turn the companies supply chain; and c) Managing suppliers to ensure flow of products/services to company is unhindered.
• Manages Strategic Sourcing Initiatives utilizing a 7-step strategic sourcing process (including but not limited to a market analysis, supplier risk analysis, baseline spend analysis, RFP execution, formal negotiation strategy and plan, contracting and implementation and monitoring of source recommendation). They negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts on behalf of Carnival engaging with suppliers at the COO and CEO level. Manages Contracts and Key Supplier Relationships.
• They lead, develop, and implement an integrated strategic process across their assigned category or categories. This role will work with CCL stakeholders, Corporate, and sister brands to identify strategic sourcing opportunities that effectively leverage our size and scale to deliver a competitive economic advantage while maintaining or improving quality and service levels. As needed, this role will develop a deep spend analysis by commodity, vendor and/or SKU to develop opportunities including an overall sourcing strategy.
• Manages Key Supplier Relationships.
• Delivers Results to Performance Goals and Measurement including but not limited to hard savings, cost avoidance, supplier diversity and sustainability.

The range for this role’s base salary is $110,000 - $130,000. Offers to select candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

• Create presentations (PowerPoint, Prezi, Visio, Publisher, etc.) utilizing notes, data, and tables provided by the subject matter expert and enhance with graphics, formatting, etc. as necessary. Ensure a consistent presentation “look and feel” across all Human Resources teams. Suggest edits as needed. Create and maintain a library of presentations and communications utilized in projects and cyclical processes/campaigns.
• Manage the annual budget planning process for all sub departments within corporate Human Resources. Disseminate information to each cost center lead; set deadlines; guidance, and expectations for budget submissions; review budget requests and seek explanations for YOY variances; analyze requests and present insights, recommendations, and context to Global CHRO. Create a rollup for submission and act as primary point of contact and field follow up questions from Finance. Prepare final budget presentation. Track and communicate budget approvals. Track progress against budget throughout fiscal year; seek out and document explanations for variances (+/-). Perform quarterly re-forecasts as needed and document necessary actions.
• Participate in and coordinate projects, information and communications with sister brands for global and North American brands initiatives, such as Ethics and Compliance, Culture, DEI, etc.
• Work with HR Leads on collective HR team exercises including: creating an update report each week for the Global CHRO and updating the HR Brand org charts as needed, ad hoc information requests as needed.

• Manage the annual budget planning process for all sub departments within corporate Human Resources. Disseminate information to each cost center lead; set deadlines; guidance, and expectations for budget submissions; review budget requests and seek explanations for YOY variances; analyze requests and present insights, recommendations, and context to Global CHRO. Create a rollup for submission and act as primary point of contact and field follow up questions from Finance. Prepare final budget presentation. Track and communicate budget approvals. Track progress against budget throughout fiscal year; seek out and document explanations for variances (+/-). Perform quarterly re-forecasts as needed and document necessary actions.
• Participate in and coordinate projects, information and communications with sister brands for global and North American brands initiatives, such as Ethics and Compliance, Culture, DEI, etc.
