About the Role
The College is seeking to recruit a Facilities Manager to join our team. The Facilities Manager is responsible for security, facility operations and grounds to ensure they meet the needs of the College. This is achieved through leadership of the facilities team to maintain and develop the College's grounds and infrastructure (property, buildings, structures, furniture, fittings and utility services) with a focus on providing excellent support services to the College staff.
The Facilities Manager coordinates and manages significant external contracts that relate to the College facilities, including building contractors, fire and security services and ensures all work is compliant with work health and safety standards.
This is a dynamic role and requires an experience facilities manager to achieve timely, cost effective and service orientated outcomes for the College.
Essential Criteria
• Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role with competencies equivalent to a relevant trade qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff in a small team environment.
• Computer skills sufficient to be able to use email, order supplies and goods and manage the College's maintenance scheduling program.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation that relates to buildings, construction and Work Health and Safety.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, students, families and external contractors and suppliers.
• High level organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and ensure work is appropriately prioritised, completed to a high standard and within required timeframes.
• Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work while working as part of a team.
• A current driver's license and either a light rigid license or willingness to acquire one.
• White card and working at heights, asbestos and scissor lift operator certified is desirable.
