Position Description

One (1) Permanent-Exempt, Full-time (40 hours), Full-year (260 days) position.

Exempt employees are considered “at will” and serve at the discretion of the appointing officer.

This position is grant-funded and is funded on a yearly basis. Hours are flexible and subject to change after appointment dependent upon grant status.

Under general supervision, the Management Assistant performs professional-level administrative and/or management duties in a variety of functional areas, such as: office/operations management; budget development, administration and fiscal reporting; development and administration of contractual agreements and grants; and evaluation and development of management policies and procedures, including evaluation of impact of existing and proposed legislation.

Job Duties

1. Prepare comprehensive Workforce and Career Education grant fiscal reports.

2. Research and analyze all budget requests from funded programs and other data.

3. Monitor expenditures, funding availability and requisition status.

4. Facilitate necessary budget revisions and adjustments to serve changing needs and priorities of the department.

5. Serve as liaison between the Workforce Development Office, different CCSF programs, and the District Business Office to assist and direct departments on how to prepare and submit financial forms or statements related to Workforce and Career Education grants.

6. Create and manage an accounting database to comply with various State and Federal Report requirements.

7. Participate in project management for accountability.

8. Prepare agenda and other items as may be required for Board meetings.

9. Develop forms, gather data, and compose departmental correspondence related to the grant activity and compliance.

10. Assess departmental needs for services, equipment, materials and supplies.

11. Manage procurement, maintenance and repair of equipment and supplies, as well as all related billing transactions.

12. Provide technical assistance to department staff.

13. Respond to inquiries from departments regarding availability, access procedures, and other requirements related to Workforce and Career Education grant funds.

14. Train and oversee clerical staff.

15. Manage grant budget summaries and budget transfer forms, staff and faculty timesheets, faculty and classified assignment hiring forms, requisition for supplies and equipment, travel order and expense reimbursement, contracts for professional services, etc.

16. Perform other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, accounting, finance, economics, social sciences, education or related fields, or other subject areas closely related to a specific departmental program or function; AND

2. One (1) year full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level management and/or administrative duties in functional areas such as: program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, development and administration of contractual agreements and/or grants, or other closely related functional areas.

Substitution: Applicants may substitute up to 2 years of required education with additional qualifying experience in program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, or contract/grant administration. One year (2000 hours) of additional qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester units/45 quarter units.

Note: Work experience with the District as a College Work Study student or Lab Aide (3591) Classification will not be considered or applied as qualifying experience.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Excellent communication skills, including experience with and commitment to customer service in diverse community.

2. A year of educational institution operations experience.

3. Experience working with budgets, and ability to analyze and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations.

4. Proficiency in using computers and familiarity with PC and Microsoft Office. Experience using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Benefits

1. Additional Days Off with Pay. As stipulated in the appropriate bargaining agreements and board resolutions, Classified employees working full-year (260 days/year) work schedules are granted, as paid days off, the days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, as well as an additional five (5) paid days off during spring break. Position Description

Under the direction of the Program Director or designee, the 1844 Sr. Management Assistant for the Extended Opportunities Programs & Services ( EOPS ) performs difficult and complex professional level administrative and/or management duties. EOPS is a needs-based student support program that focuses on educational equity to support a diverse student population in reaching their educational goals, including but not limited to students that are first generation college students, student parents, foster youth, previously incarcerated, and those with academic barriers to success. Duties will include classified supervisory responsibilities, hiring and supervising student workers, office/operations management, front counter management, staff scheduling, provides advising services to EOPS students, and first contact for student resolution on student concerns. The incumbent will be responsible for managing MIS data, and submitting to State to secure EOPS / CARE funding; managing data on EOPS students – graduation degrees, completion, and transfer; other data management and analysis as required by categorical funds. In addition the incumbent will be responsible for disseminating, interpreting, enforcing existing policies and procedures, and implement changes in personnel policies; in federal, state, and local guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations due to changing federal, state, local guidelines and deadlines; review discrepancies, and errors in budget and expenditures, and reports received from the District Business Office.

Note: This position is designated supervisory and is not represented by a collective bargaining unit.

Job Duties

1. Participate, collaborate, evaluate and manage the development and implementation of programs, schedule of services, activities, goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the EOPS and CARE program; implement and administer equitable, student-centered policies, practices and processes; maintain applications, intake documents, forms, and related policies and procedures. 2. Provide advice and assistance with the annual budget development; conduct studies as a basis for making recommendations on the departments, work plans, budget requests, review and analyze budget estimates; monitor and review program expenditures. 3. Provide assistance in the preparation of budget development/estimates and adhere to both District Business Office and EOPS procedures relating to Title 5. Perform detailed analysis of program budget development, expenditures and reporting. Provide assistance with categorical funding expenditures and district program budget. 4. Manage daily operations of the center including but not limited to staffing, scheduling, and tracking of student usage. Coordinate clerical & technical support activities such as data processing, and distributing reports. Point of contact to facilitate/resolve student issues which may arise in any of the areas of the office program. 5. Communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members. Ability to receive and provide effective, critical feedback to improve delivery of service, programming and student outcomes. 6. Present on information regarding EOPS programs to a range of audiences both on campus and in the community. 7. Gather, compile, analyze data, and prepare reports using database programs, spreadsheets, and various word processing applications to conduct needs assessments, surveys, and evaluations reports; compile and analyze statistical data, prepare reports for program evaluation; input and review data; prepare special and periodic reports including fiscal reports, program plans, progress reports, and other narrative and statistical reports. 8. Designated as the CARE Coordinator responsible for collaborating with CalWORKs to determine student eligibility, setting up and attending workshops, coordinating the CARE advisory meeting, compiling student data, distributing services, and reporting program outcomes. 9. Alleviate supervisor of routine administrative matters by exercising critical thinking skills of considerable independent judgment decision making. 10. Supervising classified staff and student workers, including delegation of tasks, addressing urgent needs, and participating in staff review and growth. 11. Act as a liaison to various college departments and outside agencies involving the EOPS Program, (e.g. Business Office, Institutional Research, ITS , etc.) and share important information regarding the EOPS program. 12. Provide training and technical support, as well as prepare training material, procedures manual for the office, referencing state and college policies. 13. Manage MIS data and submission to the California Community College Chancellor’s Office for funding source. 14. Recommend solutions to efficiently resolve problems that may occur during the working day as it pertains to EOPS operations. 15. Actively participate in implementing new technology, updates procedures/training manual and evaluate outcomes. 16. Plan and execute EOPS student events and activities including CARE Advisory Meetings, EOPS Advisory Meetings, field trips, EOPS end-of-year events. 17. Other duties as assigned.

Effective interpersonal collaboration and communication skills using tact, empathy, patience, compassion and courtesy.

The Library Information Technology department is seeking engaging part-time faculty to teach in our online program. Our department serves a diverse group of students representing a wide range of skill levels and educational goals, including vocational certificates, associate degrees, and lower division requirements that lead to transfer to universities.

Job Duties

This part-time position requires the ability to instruct face-to-face beginning to advanced levels of jewelry/metal arts and casting for metal arts using various technologies, materials and working approaches. Instruction will also include image-based lectures that cover the historical and contemporary applications of metal arts nationally and globally. The courses can be scheduled as day, evening or weekend courses at the Ocean Campus, 50 Frida Kahlo Way, San Francisco.

The Art Department schedules over 65 credit courses each semester in face-to-face, online and hybrid formats. Over 25 faculty members teach the disciplines of Art History, Ceramics, Chinese Brush Painting, Design, Drawing, Illustration, Metal Arts, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Watercolor. Art Department faculty and their curriculum support the transformative power of education and the responsibility to identify and serve the needs of more than 1000 students who reflect the rich ethnic and racial diversity, and complex socioeconomic reality of the Bay Area.

Job Duties

1. Instruct students in all levels of Metal Arts, Jewelry, and Lost Wax Casting.

2. Conduct appropriate lectures and demonstrations as needed to instruct in the technology and art forms of Metals, Jewelry, and Lost Wax Casting.

3. Assign students various activities and projects in accordance with the appropriate class outline and design instructional materials, activities and assessments that promote student learning and achievement.

4. Perform duties associated with instructing and assessing student progress including, but not limited to census, grading, and student learning outcomes.

5. Maintain appropriate records in accordance with the needs of the Metals Arts area, the Art Department and the expectations of the college in general.

6. Demonstrate safe and proper use of machine and hand tools available for student use in the Metal Arts, Jewelry, and Casting studio classroom including the safe and proper use of the centrifugal casting machine.

7. Abide by and enforce college identified safety and hazardous materials protocols.

8. Supervise studio assistants in the maintenance and organization of the studio.

9. Coordinate with Metal Arts area faculty in ordering supplies such as sheet metal, casting grain, investment, waxes and also tools and equipment. Maintain vendor contacts, make orders, and follow up for vendor payment.

10. Routinely communicate with Metal Arts area faculty concerning maintenance of the studio classroom including equipment and work with CCSF Building and Grounds technicians when needed

11. Teach day, evening, and/or Saturday classes as required.

12. Participate in departmental functions, such as committee work, faculty evaluations, staff meetings, gallery work, etc.

Position Description

Under the general direction of the DSPS Department Chair and the Dean of Student Success, the categorically funded full-time counselor of Disabled Students Programs and Services ( DSPS ) is responsible for providing specialized academic, career, personal and disability management counseling to adult students with disabilities from diverse backgrounds. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated counselor who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our student success. This position may work in the evening or weekend to meet student needs as necessary, and this position may be assigned to various locations including the centers.

Job Duties

1. Provide successful specialized academic, career, personal, and disability management counseling to adult students with disabilities from diverse backgrounds.

2. Work as a DSPS counselor during day, evening and/or weekends at any of the College Centers, Ocean Campus and community sites as required and/or travel among them as required.

3. Provide quality counseling and support services regardless of location or means of delivery including a combination of in-person and online counseling services.

4. Serve as an advocate for disabled students and work with instructors, counselors, other DSPS and CCSF personnel and community resources to assist students in the pursuit of their educational goals.

5. Evaluate verification of disability documentation, identify functional limitations and arrange for appropriate and reasonable accommodations which address those limitations.

6. Successfully develop Academic Accommodation Plans (AAPs) for students with disabilities.

7. Facilitate the provision of accommodations such as notetaking, adaptive devices, special test taking arrangements, and ASL interpreting adapted classroom equipment.

8. Maintain confidential records; accurately record information needed to complete mandated reports, input student data into Banner system.

9. Participate in professional development activities, program development and review, student activities, high school outreach, and faculty committees.

3. Assists faculty in setting up and taking down laboratory demonstrations.

4. Coordinates the preparation of laboratory materials for a variety of biology laboratories including but not limited to the areas of general biology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, botany and zoology.

5. Prepares laboratory solutions, reagents and media; distributes and maintains laboratory supplies, inventories, and equipment.

6. Works with student assistants in the completion of laboratory duties.

7. Maintains collections of preserved and live biological specimens.

8. Assists the storeroom manager with the handling and disposal of chemical and biological waste in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.

9. Maintains collegial and respectful interactions with faculty, staff, supervisors, students and the general public.

10. Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of two years of college coursework (60 semester/90 quarter units) with at least 20 (semester/30 quarter) units of laboratory sciences from an accredited college of university, of which 15 (semester) units must be in Biology courses of college level; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Note: Work experience with the District as a College Work Study Student or Lab Aide (3591 Classification) will not be considered or applied as qualifying experience.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge and experience of the principles, practices and procedures of all areas of the operation of a college biology laboratory, especially as related to laboratory experiments and the related apparatus, technical equipment, supplies, and safety.

2. Ability to work reliably, safely, efficiently. Demonstrated skills in planning, organization, and coordination of lab materials for a variety of physical science courses in the biology department.

3. Excellent communication skills, the optimal candidate will maintain collegial and respectful interactions with faculty, staff, supervisors, students, and the general public and be able to work effectively within a team environment.

4. Completion of a baccalaureate degree with at least 30 semester units of laboratory science (of which 20 should be in biology, physiology and microbiology courses at the college level), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

5. Knowledge of college biology as related to preparation of laboratory solutions and media used in biology courses.

6. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to develop and maintain a computer database for inventory purposes. Desirable candidate will have familiarity with basic computer hardware, troubleshooting, and be able to coordinate and take responsibility for the set up and take down and maintenance of laboratories that utilize mobile computer resources.

Benefits

1. Additional Days Off with Pay. As stipulated in the appropriate bargaining agreements and board resolutions, classified employees working full-year (260 days/year) work schedules are granted, as paid days off, the days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, as well as an additional five (5) paid days off during spring break. Eligible school-term-only ( STO ) employees who are not scheduled to work the designated days between Christmas and New Year’s Day shall be granted three (3) paid days off to be scheduled by mutual agreement between the employee and supervisor. Eligible school- term-only ( STO ) employees who are not scheduled to work the days designated as Spring Break will not be paid for these days off.

2. New employees hired on or after October 1, 2013 will contribute 2% of salary to the San Francisco Retiree Health Care Trust Fund ( RHCTF ).

Two (2) Permanent exempt, Full-time, Full-year positions.

These positions are grant-funded and is funded on a yearly basis. Hours are subject to change after appointment dependent upon grant status.

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Student Success and/or designee, the Technical Instructional Assistant ( TIA ) Evaluation Technician will perform highly technical duties to support the Completion Center operations and collaborate with the Counseling Department and other departments at City College of San Francisco to support credit and noncredit students.

These positions will support the operations of the Online Education Plan, Degree Audit, and Early Alert Systems for credit and noncredit programs. In addition, these positions will collaborate with the Office of Instruction in inputting College Catalog and curriculum data in the Student Information System for credit and noncredit programs; use technology to enhance operations and student experience; and assist in the evaluation of departmental policies, and/or program evaluation and planning. These positions may require extended and weekend hours during student registration periods.

Note: These positions may be required to work evenings and weekends and assigned to work on the Ocean Campus and/or at different centers as needed.

Job Duties

1. Create and sustain a welcoming and respectful atmosphere by demonstrating understanding and sensitivity to students with diverse backgrounds. 2. Support the operations of the early alert, education plan and degree audit system for credit and noncredit certificate and degree programs to enable counselors and students to run credit and noncredit program audit reports and complete credit and noncredit education plans by making corrections to update the program requirements in the online education plan and audit system, and scribing, entering, maintaining and correcting data. 3. Assist with the development of a transfer course equivalency database that will be integrated into the online education plan and degree audit system. 4. Review and verify student records, assist student with certificate petitions and graduation and completion concerns and refer students to see a counselor as appropriate.

5. Help scribe and enter data, curriculum information, and student data in the Online Education Plan, Degree Audit, and Early Alert Systems for both credit and noncredit programs. 6. Work with other departments such as Counseling, ITS , Office of Instruction, Admissions and Records to troubleshoot issues in the Online Education Plan, Degree Audit, and Early Alert Systems for credit and noncredit programs. 7. Assist the College efforts to develop and implement the Completion Center initiatives and projects, including but not limited to auto-petition process for credit and noncredit programs. 8. Review and verify student records and assist students throughout the enrollment, registration, and student completion process in credit and noncredit programs. 10. Assist in the development of operational policies and procedures for the department in compliance with overall CCSF goals. 15. Minimum Qualifications

A BS/BA degree

OR

AA/AS degree AND two years (4000 hours) of relevant paid experience in a Registration or Admissions and Records Office; OR

Four (4) years (8000 hours) of relevant experience in a Registration or Admissions and Records Office or Student Services, preferable in a college setting.

Benefits

1. Additional Days Off with Pay. As stipulated in the appropriate bargaining agreements and board resolutions, Classified employees working full year (260 days/year) work schedules are granted, as paid days off, the days between Christmas and New Year’s Day, as well as an additional five (5) paid days off during spring break. Eligible school-term-only ( STO ) employees who are not scheduled to work the designated days between Christmas and New Year’s Day shall be granted three (3) paid days off to be scheduled by mutual agreements between the employee and supervisor. The Diagnostic Medical Imaging program is currently accepting applications to establish a pool for adjunct teaching assignments. Adjunct teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed. This job posting is not for a specific assignment or for a full-time faculty position.
