The Director of Clinical Education

This is a remote position that will support the Respiratory Therapy Program and pays from $73,102.50- $89,550.56/ Annually.
The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is responsible for curriculum, instruction, and will be an integral part of the student educational experience. The Director will provide engaged instruction; develop curricula; conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment; and advise and support students. The DCE will engage in professional work to advance the College’s mission by participating in institutional advancement, professional development, and community service in the pursuit of excellence. The DCE plans and coordinates the clinical education for the Respiratory Therapy Program by performing the following duties.
The Director of Clinical Education reports to the Program Director
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director.
• Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of clinical experiences students are enrolled in.
• Provide clinical instruction and document the evaluation and progression of clinical performance leading to clinical competence.
• Establish clinical rapport with affiliates to include procurement of contract agreement and maintenance.
• Work with local and remote clinical agencies and affiliates to coordinate availability of clinical assignments for students.
• Review clinical schedules for clinical rotations at the various facilities.
• Approve the assignment of faculty to various clinical sites with the Program Director approval.
• Orient all new clinical preceptors to their role.
• Provide supervisory virtual visits to clinical sites.
• Oversee the Maintenance of clinical records.
• Obtain evaluations of students by clinical site managers and clinical instructors. Follow up with students as needed for remediation related to clinical assignments, such as care plans.
• Assure clinical objectives are being met at various clinical agencies. Attend meetings regarding scheduling at all clinical facilities.
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required.
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled hours or by appointment.
• Communicate with Program director on all issues related to students as needed.
• Act in the role of instructor in the classroom, lab, or clinical as needed when faculty are unavailable.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field, board policies and accreditation expectations.
• Assist Program Director in the planning, management and evaluation of all aspects of the program.
• Be knowledgeable about the educational environment within which he/she practices and recognizes how political, institutional, social, and economic forces influence his/her role.
• Ensure students follow the catalog guidelines in the clinical setting.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
• Serve on committees as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Work remotely as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Have a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy credential.
• Hold a current State Respiratory Therapist License
• Minimum four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.
COMPENSATION
• Full Time - Salaried – Exempt
• Wage Range – $73,102.50- $89,550.56/ Annually

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Student Employment Recruiter (SER) has primary responsibility for facilitating the necessary career development/job readiness of graduates that will result in graduate job placements. The focus of this position is the development and maintenance of relationships with students, graduates, and employers to maximize opportunities that will assist the Career Services Team in meeting and exceeding placement goals. Success requires a team approach and contribution within a peer group of Student Employment Recruiters by functioning at a high level of alumni engagement, employer engagement, and campus/classroom engagement of the active student population.
This position reports directly to the Director of Career Services but may require interactions with interdepartmental leaders as it relates to the success of our students, graduates, and those alumni with whom we work until placed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graduates
• Regularly and consistently produce job opportunities for graduates as a result of actively marketing graduates to employers: Present resumes, secure interviews, conduct follow-up with employers and graduates. Will work closely with current, and previous year cohort of graduates.
• Obtain, verify and record graduate employment data of graduates - including but not limited to employment and waiver information.
• Maintain regular and consistent contact with graduates within assigned programs - document contact in CampusVue.
• Following above processes is an expectation for the ability to meet or exceed college and accreditation standards.

• Manage staff Outlook calendars by tracking the status of all video appointments and interviews
• Post and send mail daily, as needed.
• Accept and post student payments, and assist with taking deposits to the bank.
• Check inventory for print materials (ensuring marketing material at location is up to date).
• Keep video rooms stocked with necessary marketing material, and prepped for use.
• Administer / proctor any entrance or certification exams, pull and log all test scores for the exams, when / if requested.

Create an electronic resource manual, reviewed quarterly for any necessary updates, to identify area resources that assist students throughout their education.
This manual would be comprised of available resources applicable to area public transportation, internet / computer availability, daycare options, utility opportunities for students etc.
• Provide Admissions sit updates to required personnel daily during start week.
• Follow all procedures as outlined in department manuals and posted directives.
