BlackRock Marketing is looking for a strategic marketing leader to drive all aspects of marketing for North America. Reporting to BlackRock’s CMO, the North America CMO will be responsible for leading a new marketing function that encompasses all client and product business marketing teams across BlackRock. This leader will develop a marketing strategy that accelerates BlackRock’s growth across all client segments and defends and builds BlackRock’s brand and reputation while delivering the breadth of the firm’s offerings to clients’ and prospective clients through a seamless BlackRock branded client experience.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring partnership across the entirety of the BlackRock ecosystem. This leader will build relationships with External Affairs, Corporate Communications, and our client and regional businesses.

Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning & Implementation: Orchestrate the development of strategic marketing plans that drive brand and business growth
• Data & Analytics: Define a data and insight driven marketing strategy and plan that supports the achievement BlackRock’s short- and long-term business and brand objectives. Define clear goals for all marketing programs and proactively uses data and analytics to optimize marketing programs
• Customer Experience: Experience and understanding of how to use data and technology to deliver a seamless and highly personalized client marketing experience. In partnership with BlackRock central marketing teams, lead the development and seamless execution of breakthrough omnichannel marketing programs that are highly targeted to reach and engage defined client segments. Drive defined perception and behavior changes
• Creative & Content: Partner with 3rd party agencies and in-house creative resources to develop impactful business and brand building creative and content
• Partnership Marketing: Develop and implement strategic co-marketing plans with distribution partners that have resulted in the achievement of mutual business priorities
• Budget Management & Cost Optimization: Build, track, and manage marketing budgets to drive brand and business growth
• Execution Management: Collaborate effectively across functions and businesses to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges and alignment with business imperatives. Desired Qualifications
• Outstanding track-record as a marketing leader with proven success and achievement driving brand and business outcomes
• 15+ years marketing experience with ’best in category’ global brands
• 5+ years senior marketing leadership experience leading country, regional and global marketing teams
• Experience working in and leading marketing in the U.S.
• Experience in financial services. A working understanding of the investment management/ETF industry and client segments is preferred
• Experience across B2C, B2B, and B2B2C marketing models
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence through all levels of an organization, demonstrated through excellent interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or an advanced university degree is highly desired

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $285,000 - $350,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

About the Role

We’re looking for a CMO to take full ownership of our strategy, programs, and campaigns that support our next exciting stage of growth. Reporting into the CEO, you’ll lead our marketing functions, as well as become a core member of KOHO’s Senior Leadership Team.

What You'll Need:
• 10+ years experience in marketing/growth

• Post-secondary education in a related field
• You know how to develop, evolve, and execute a data-driven, cross-functional marketing strategy

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Chief Marketing Officer reports directly to the Chancellor and is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet where the CMO will serve as senior advisor providing leadership and strategic planning for all brand marketing and organization communications. The individual is responsible for developing a compelling brand position for the university and the campaign mentality to build and protect SIU’s brand with multiple stakeholder audiences: prospective and current students and their families, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, volunteers, corporate and foundation communities, the media, elected officials, the Carbondale community and the public.

The individual works across campus to collaboratively build a brand architecture to ensure that the brand, image and culture of the University are effectively communicated and consistent in all communications and that the presentation in advertising, social media, publications the website and other vehicles is relevant, accurate, engaging, and highly creative.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Identify marketing, advertising and communication priorities and develop plans and programs to address needs and opportunities.
• Lead all branding, re-branding and brand storytelling initiatives for the university.
• Develop annual and long-range plans with specific strategies, effective tactics, and measurable objectives that will result in both increased enrollment and stewardship of SIU’s brand.
• Lead all of the university’s communications efforts, including (but not limited to) corporate, internal and crisis communications.
• Provide expertise across both digital and non-digital channels to ensure SIU’s approach to reaching their audience is as integrated as possible.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and internal and external stakeholders to create a universal buy-in with marketing campaign initiatives.
• In consultation with the Chancellor, create and implement comprehensive communications, public relations, marketing, and social media strategies: all with rigorous project management.
• Advise the Chancellor and other college administrators on internal and external communications in the context of higher education issues and decision-making.
• Oversee the chancellor’s executive communications with internal and external audiences, including the coordination of crisis management.
• Compile and analyze metrics to inform planning and measure the success of activities.
• Employ an effective social media strategy.
• Develop a comprehensive brand architecture that can be communicated and implemented across all internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate on the development of activities and programs to increase the visibility and positive public image of SIU.
• Develop and administer annual budgets and assure appropriate fiscal responsibility and controls.
• Lead, manage and inspire a staff of more than two dozen professionals, providing coaching and development as needed.
• Provide oversight to ensure quality control over information and other deliverables used in SIU outreach activities.
• Manage external agencies, vendor, and other communications vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a marketing or communications leadership role
• A demonstrated track record of developing and leading successful & fully integrated/omni-channel marketing and communications campaigns that achieve specific, measurable results
• A proven ability to structure and manage multi-disciplinary teams for success
• A thorough understanding of budget planning and monitoring processes
• A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Communications, Marketing, or other appropriate field
• Experience in managing a communications or marketing team for a consumer-driven corporation or agency is preferred
• Preferred Qualifications:Strong familiarity of higher education or non-profit is helpful, but not required
