Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver license. Upon hire, possess a Nevada or "border state" driver license under conditions defined by Nevada Revised Statute 483.035
• Must be a U.S. citizen at the time of application

Candidates who pass the NTN Corrections test with a score of 80% or higher in the Human Relations Video section, 70% or higher in Count Score, and 80% or higher in Reading, will be eligible to continue in the selection process.

National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the Henderson Police Department's responsibility and decision making in the testing process. Preliminary Interview and Physical Fitness Test
Applicants who successfully pass the NTN test will be notified via email to self-schedule for the next step in the assessment process.
We will make all attempts to conduct the Preliminary Interview and Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same day with the PFT taking place in the morning. Applicants who have passed the PFT process will move on to the Preliminary Interview process in the afternoon. Groups of applicants will be processed in this manner on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Preschool Program Instructor - $11.86 - $12.10 per hour (starting wage)
What type of work will you be doing?
Preschool Program Instructors work in the department of Parks and Recreation and are assigned in a variety of program areas such as the City's state licensed preschool program and perform a variety of duties.
• Provides classroom instruction; works with students individually and in small groups to assist with the learning of skills introduced in class while adhering to all related City and Department policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations and licensing requirements.
• Observes student behavior and learning; ensures students are supervised at all times; assists students with preparing for and moving to other classrooms, activities, and arrival and departure from program location.
• Establishes routines and provides guidance; communicates observations regularly with the Preschool Administrator and parents/guardians.
• Assists with administrative work and recordkeeping; prepares instructional materials, displays, bulletin boards and other non-instructional tasks as assigned.
• Arranges furniture and equipment for various learning activities and experiences; maintains the orderly arrangement of materials and equipment within the classroom.
• Recognizes, avoids, reports, and resolves unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries, complaints, special requests, safety conditions, security issues and illegal activities within scope of authority.
• Participates in required in-service, workshops programs and attends meetings as required.
• Protects confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties, and uses discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
• Completes in-service training and continuing education as required.
