About the Role
As the product leader of the Adoption team you will take ownership of the Cloudflare dashboard and cloudflare.com. You will measure and grow the engagement of customers and prospects with our products and with Cloudflare itself. Problems you may face:
• How can cloudflare.com do better at educating prospects about Cloudflare products and our mission to build a better Internet? How do we measure progress?
• How can the dashboard provide individual product teams a powerful canvas on which to deliver world-class experiences? Can we maintain a tech stack and common design language that empowers individual teams to build great experiences rather than constrain them?
• Can we simultaneously educate customers about our products, convince them to pay, then onboard and upsell them to new offerings as well as encourage them to onboard their colleagues and friends?
• Can we manage adjacent cost drivers like customer support and outbound sales? Can we be confident that moving the needle on these fronts is doing more good than harm? Can we leverage adjacent channels like cloudflare.tv and social media?
• Many customers interact with Cloudflare predominantly through APIs or Terraform. How can these properties serve the needs of those customers as well while maintaining velocity of innovation?
As Director of Product Management, Adoption, you'll be responsible for leading a small team of PMs who partner with a committed set of engineering, design, and go-to-market teams as well as product teams from around the company to meet these challenges. At the same time, you'll be expected to establish and maintain a high performance culture in your team and contribute to citizenship at Cloudflare - promoting excellence and elevation of the craft of Product Management across the company.
Key Competencies
In this role, you'll be responsible for building and iterating existing products and delivering brand-new. We want to find someone who is curious, can learn quickly, think creatively, and work cross-functionally with engineering, design and other teams. A few key competencies:
• Demonstrated excellence building public facing UX in an Enterprise setting. Be prepared to show examples of your work, ideally live.
• A history of building and managing teams where people deliver the best work of their lives in a dynamic environment where goals can conflict and desires always exceed resources
• First-class execution - we want to understand the system by which you manage competing priorities, progress never stops and the right things get done.
• Excellent synthesis abilities - you will not be handed a graph to move. You will be asked to talk to numerous constituents and then define the graph that needs to move, convince everyone else it is the right graph, then move it - iteratively, continuously, tirelessly.
• Influence through persuasion - you need to convince teams that do not work for you to see things your way. Your communication skills and EQ will need to be excellent. You're able to speak with ease to customers, engineers, colleagues and executives
• A track-record of driving excellence throughout the organizations you serve. We want to hear not just about the things you shipped but the difficult cases where you had to say no.
Bonus Points
• Understanding the modern UX stack with enough fidelity to hold your own with engineers will be highly beneficial. An engineering background would be helpful. An alternate source of credibility on this front might come from having developed a web property yourself.
• Data-fluency - there is no team of analysts at Cloudflare. Can you work directly with data yourself to build confidence in your views and can you use that same data to persuade others?
• At Cloudflare it's pretty helpful to understand how the Internet really works at layers 2 through 7. If you don't have this, be prepared to speak with mastery about another realm of similar complexity.
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
• For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $226,000 - $276,000
• For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $252,000 - $308,000

We're not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We're a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.
Project Galileo: We equip politically and artistically important organizations and journalists with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare's enterprise customers--at no cost.
Athenian Project: We created Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration.
Path Forward Partnership: Since 2016, we have partnered with Path Forward, a nonprofit organization, to create 16-week positions for mid-career professionals who want to get back to the workplace after taking time off to care for a child, parent, or loved one.
1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here's the deal - we don't store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

About the Team...
Cloudflare helps build the future of the Internet. We started Cloudflare to solve one half of every IT organization's challenge: how do you ensure the resources and infrastructure that you expose to the Internet are safe from attack, fast, and reliable. We saw that the world was moving away from hardware and software to solve these problems and instead wanted a scalable service that would work around the world. To deliver that, we built one of the world's largest networks. Today our network spans more than 250 cities worldwide and is within milliseconds of nearly everyone connected to the Internet. We have built the capacity to stand up to nation-state scale cyberattacks and a threat intelligence system powered by the immense amount of Internet traffic that we see.
We are now expanding Cloudflare’s product offerings to solve the other half of every IT organization's challenge: ensuring the people and teams within an organization can access the tools they need to do their jobs and are safe from malware and other online threats.
To do that, we released Cloudflare Zero Trust Platform, a Zero Trust platform built on Cloudflare’s network to secure users, devices, and data in organizations of any size. Cloudflare for Teams consists of multiple products that deliver a comprehensive solution. Those products include
• Cloudflare Access, built to replace VPNs and protect internally-managed applications.
• Cloudflare Tunnel, the best way to connect your infrastructure to Cloudflare in a secure way.
• Cloudflare Gateway, a tool that keeps team members protected from malware and other threats on the Internet.
• The Cloudflare Zero Trust Agent, the secure on-ramp for your traffic to the Internet.
• Cloudflare Browser Isolation, the Internet’s fastest browser isolation technology
What you'll do
In this role, you’ll help us build Cloudflare Browser Isolation, a secure remote browsing platform that protects users from security threats on the Internet. As an engineer on the Browser Isolation team, you will focus on designing, building, and scaling our Chromium-based distributed browsing engine. You will also contribute to the control plane that enables distributed Chromium-based browsers to deliver low-latency remote browsing for our users at scale across our global anycast network. You will solve problems of massive scale and significance, shaping the future of secure web browsing on the Internet.
Technologies we use:
• Our client is written in WebAssembly, Typescript, and WebGL
• Our remote streaming technology is based on WebRTC and Skia (read our blog to learn more)
• Our remote browser is based on Chromium and developed in C++
• For our orchestration layer we use Nomad, Consul, Go and Typescript
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
Members of the Browser Isolation team contribute to all areas of the product. These include everything from making patches to Chromium, orchestrating tasks at the edge, and working on our build infrastructure. We’re looking for engineers at all levels who are excited to work broadly across our technology and service stack.
• Extensive experience coding in C++
• Experience coding in Go and Typescript
• Linux/UNIX systems knowledge
• Systems-level debugging and performance optimization
• Ability to effectively navigate, understand, and contribute to large codebases
• Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in algorithms, data structures, software design, and building large, distributed systems
Bonus Points
• Experience working in low-latency real time environments such as remote computer streaming, game engine architecture, high frequency trading, etc.
• Experience with workload and container orchestration systems such as Nomad or Kubernetes.
• Experience working on a major browser engine
• Distributed task orchestration
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
• For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $137,000 - $152,000
• For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $154,000 - $171,000.

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.
Project Galileo : We equip politically and artistically important organizations and journalists with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost.
Athenian Project : We created Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration.
Path Forward Partnership : Since 2016, we have partnered with Path Forward, a nonprofit organization, to create 16-week positions for mid-career professionals who want to get back to the workplace after taking time off to care for a child, parent, or loved one.
1.1.1.1 : We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!

• Our REST API is written in Go, runs on Kubernetes, and uses Postgres as a data store.
• Our frontend is written in Typescript and React.
• For service monitoring we use Prometheus and Grafana.
• For service logging we use Elasticsearch and Kibana.
• For product analytics we use Clickhouse and BigQuery.
Because you’ll be solving problems of massive scale and significance , and shaping the future of the Internet , you are a growth-oriented individual who enjoys being outside of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment.
