Job Purpose

As a member of the student-athlete Academic Services (SAAS) team, the Student-Athlete Academic Advisor provides assistance to the director, advises and monitors assigned student-athletes, and supports the director of SAAS and the lead in the area of student-athlete development.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from and accredited institution minimum, interest in pursuing further education in a related field preferred. Minimum 1 year experience in higher education; prefer experience in a Division I student-athlete support program. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and APR. Ability to establish and maintain effective... working relationships with student-athletes, faculty, staff, and coaches. Strong communication skills, written and oral. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to organize tasks and set priorities and be able to work in a time sensitive environment. Must have ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

Additional Comments Regarding Position

May be required to work evenings and weekends. May be expected to attend conferences or seminars where overnight travel is required.

This includes creating 4-year graduation plans for all student-athletes, weekly meetings with freshmen, advising undeclared student-athletes for future semesters and towards a major path, supporting major exploration, supporting the faculty-student relationship, checking major advising and balancing it with athletics, assisting coaches in developing practice schedules which lower the number of class conflicts and make sense with travel schedules to decrease class absences, sending absence memo and travel letters, collaborating with Sports Medicine for injuries and illnesses which require missed classes and especially with the Return to Learn Protocol, sending out progress report requests, traveling with teams when deemed necessary, meeting with PSAs and families during recruiting visits, assisting with continuing eligibility process, and communicating academic progress with coaches.

Job Description

The Assistant Professor of Finance is a full-time, tenure track position. The normal teaching load is 3/3, mainly teaching Investments and/or Corporate Finance. The courses can be at both undergraduate and graduate level. Specific teaching assignments are under the departmental chair’s discretion.

Preferred Qualifications
• Hold a Ph.D. in finance, active in research. ABD will be considered, but needs to complete the terminal degree within one year of hiring.
• Hold a designation such as CFA, CPA, CFP, CMA, or others, or show progress toward obtaining one or more such designations.
• Prior College and/or University teaching experience in Finance.
• Relevant professional experience.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• A team player, being able to engage colleagues on research projects.

Job Purpose:

The assistant director of employee experience and success works under limited supervision to plan, develop, manage and conduct training and development sessions on a wide variety of topics to a diverse audience. Strong knowledge, skill and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with Absorb LMS and Articulate Storyline a plus.
Additional Comments Regarding Position:

May be asked to occasionally travel off-site, overnight or to make presentations/facilitate retreats in a wide range of venues. Attendance at a variety of professional seminars, workshops and conferences is expected and will require overnight travel.
