The Operations Team Leader [OTL] position is one that impacts and influences the overall culture, employee relations, performance of a manufacturing facility and its ability to align with the company’s core values and initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for demonstrating personal leadership, effectively managing production activities and resources, for a specified manufacturing area, to deliver business results and drive continuous improvement while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily production schedule adherence, customer service, area financial performance, implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives (EOHS, Quality, FP&R), Employee Relations and to drive team development and performance. The OTL achieves success through collaborative partnerships with Supply Chain and leveraging the Company’s renewed focus on agility, FEED, and Leadership principles. The role is also supportive of the Tom’s of Maine Mission and site requirements as needed such as participation on cross-functional teams, leadership for community events, volunteering, and working on maintenance/housekeeping projects.

Responsibilities
• Manages the people, materials, and equipment by the active presence on the shop floor to achieve the daily production schedule and deliver area KPI's.
• Accountable for Operational Excellence (EOHS, Quality, FP&R) activities of the production area to deliver high levels of service to internal and external customers.
• Effectively and proactively addresses labor relations issues in the area, as appropriate, according to CP Managing with Respect principles.
• Identify actions to minimize financial variances associated with materials, finished products and other components of the plant’s conversion cost including labor cost and operating supplies.
• Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive standards and governmental regulations related to the area of responsibility.
• Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures, e.g., crewing, shift rotation, vacation scheduling, etc.to meet business needs.
• Identifies, recommends, and implements manufacturing cost reduction programs.
• Support execution of new technology within the production area.
• Communicates and implements the local Supply Chain vision, mission, strategy, and objectives.
• Ensures the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, recognition, delegation, and performance management.
• Participates in the implementation of EOHS principles and corrective actions through walkabouts and effective follow-up.
• Ensures SOPs (procedures) are followed by technicians and operators.
• Leverages the FP&R program, standards and guidelines to drive performance.
• Understands the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished good with particular focus on EOHS, Quality, FP&R, documentation and problem resolution.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Coaching and feedback skills required in a high performance work systems environment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and manage in ambiguous situations.
• Proficiency with Google Suite collaboration tools (G-doc, sheets, slides, etc) and/or Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications
• At least 2 years of experience in managing and leading teams.
• Working knowledge of production and process equipment, preferably in a processing industry such as food, chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
• Ability to establish a specific course of action to accomplish goals through appropriate allocation of time and resources.
• Ability to clearly express ideas both orally and in writing.
• Project Management Skills.

Salary Range $64,000 - $92,400 USD

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing Corrective and Planned Maintenance tasks, support project execution & validations as well as implement Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Engineer and he/she is responsible to support the operation, adjustment, calibration and changeover of production equipment, troubleshooting as well as executing minor & major repairs in the entire site, ensuring compliance with our EOHS, Quality and FP&R Standards. The Maintenance Technician works within a structure that requires considerable interaction with others in the same production unit as well as other production units and support functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Leads & execute major and minor mechanical & electrical maintenance of automated and non-automated equipment & processes (making, finishing, vertical integration & Utilities) through computer terminals, control panels and/or by manual means in the manufacturing of Colgate-Palmolive products. This includes troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components, and performing Corrective and Planned maintenance task as required to ensure equipment reliability and on-going production. Works with OEM, consultants & Suppliers to solve problems.
• Operates and performs changeovers of automated equipment (making, finishing, and vertical integration) through computer terminals, control panels and/or by manual means in the manufacturing of Colgate-Palmolive products, and coordinates effective execution with upstream and downstream processes by working with others in operations, planning, warehouse, and receiving departments.
• Seeks and understands production scheduling and demands. Prioritizes maintenance activities that support and facilitates these needs.
• Stays abreast of teams’ production performance via visual, written and verbal communications and actively seeks for Continuous Improvement Opportunities. Highlights potential issues, recommends and implement corrective & preventive actions under daily operation pressure to drive production lines and making process performance.
• Provides support in new equipment installation, calibration, validation and start up processes.
• Confirms in-house availability of tools, change and spare parts required to keep production running, and accurately stores them in the designated locations..
• Undertakes daily reporting and updates of information systems (SAP, OPERA, Cycle Counts, Handoff reports,etc) including documentation of maintenance activities performed on equipment. Accurately and fully completes all regulatory and compliance related documentation and procedures
• Fabricates simple machine parts using the required shop equipment such as: lathe, drill press, milling machine and others.
• Participates in structured group or team activities & meetings related to line/area performance improvement e.g. Shift Handoff, autonomous maintenance small group meetings, CI, RCA, 5S&VW, Maintenance Planning, Etc.
• Shares knowledge with the team and develops basic maintenance skills in Operator Technicians. Helps Develop Standard Operating Procedure, Standard Work Instructions, One Point Lessons and any other kind of document used to transfer learning and ensure standardization and repeatability of tasks.

Qualifications

Required:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three years functional experience in a manufacturing environment; or Technical college/vocational school certificate or Associates degree in related field.
• Advance skills in working with technical documentation (mechanical & electrical drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, process flow, etc).
• Mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation and electrical knowledge.
• Working knowledge and dexterity with tools, utilities and manufacturing equipment.

• Ability to work with office and manufacturing software using computers and HMIs.

Logistics Finance Intern

The Logistics Finance Intern is responsible for supporting the financial activities related to the US Company transportation and warehousing operations, as well as inventory management. This position focuses on validating, processing, and monitoring vendor invoices, enforcing inventory controls, and preparing various reports.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Vendor Invoices

- Validation of transportation and warehousing invoices against Routing guides, contracts, Autopay and billing summaries

- Encoding of non-PO invoices in SAP and monitoring of the timing of posting of vendor invoices by CBS to ensure timely payment

Reporting

- Assist in preparation of weekly summaries of carrier spend

- Assist in preparation of month-end inventory reports

- Assist in preparation of payment reconciliations

Inventory Controls

- Monitoring of monthly cycle count and snapshot performance by the distribution centers

- Analysis of cycle count and snapshot results to ensure that gaps are resolved/adjusted in SAP

- Participate in wall-to-wall physical inventory counts by conducting test counts

Costing

- Assist in the preparation of logistics cost estimates for new products

Education & Experience (required)
• Excellent computer literacy (Google Suite, Excel)
• High level of accuracy for entering data and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Planning and organization skills with ability the to prioritize workloads
• Ability to work about 15-20 hours per week
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Helpful but not required
• Strong understanding of basic Accounting principles
• Experience with SAP
