Job Summary:
The Compressor Design Engineer is a key member of the Advanced Technologies Applied Compression team, which works across the business to understand and develop compression technology to meet our customers' needs. In this role, you will solve technology needs through mechanical design, analysis, testing, qualification and manufacturing integration of screw and/or centrifugal compressors used in HVAC and refrigeration applications.

• Specify, select, and apply motors in compressor applications. Perform stress and deflection analysis, rotor dynamics, and vibration analysis.
• Facilitate design reviews, conduct design FMEAs, develop and execute virtual engineering and physical testing validation plans. Use virtual development tools to predict performance and optimize compressor design.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the business to provide compressor selection recommendations and refine design to meet application needs. Maintain awareness of new technology through supplier relationships, participation in technical societies, academic research projects, and conferences.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical reports, lab test results, drawings, models, and specifications.
• Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operations. Assure compatibility between design and process capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) and at least 2 years' work experience in product design and development is required.
