A Note Our customers know us for marketing software that helps them organize everything in one place and optimize their content to produce the best results. Our team knows us as the best place in North Dakota to do what you love, and love what you do. Every. Day.

You should know us as a startup with a fast-paced culture. Every day we build, market, and support an amazing product that customers from 100... countries love. Are you ready to join us?

A Note On Degrees & Areas Of Concentration:

This role involves understanding patterns, applying HTML code into webpages, and some of the more technical aspects of search engine optimization (SEO). If you don’t know HTML/CSS or SEO, no worries! It’s all about patterns and discovery. The best candidates will be those who like solving problems and puzzles. We also need someone who is extremely detail-oriented.

So what does that mean for who should apply? We encourage you to apply if you’re passionate about problem-solving. Candidates who could succeed in this role include those learning about management information systems (MIS), math stuff, general business, marketing, communications, and beyond. Again, if you don’t fit that bill but are intrigued by the position, take a shot and let us see if we can find a place for you! We want a diverse team full of varying perspectives that will help us all win together.

Position Overview:

This role is part of our Content Marketing team. You’ll work closely with our content experts to optimize the content we publish so that prospective users may discover our brand via search engines like Google. You will be responsible for search engine optimization projects assigned by the Head of Marketing. This work may involve auditing our marketing for potential optimizations, reaching out to referral sources to gain and retain backlinks, and editing existing materials to capitalize on ranking factors.

Job Summary:
• Update published content according to search engine optimization best practices.
• Optimize internal content linking structures to help audiences discover more of our relevant content.
• Optimize outbound links to prevent other sources and competition from outranking our content.
• Optimize existing content with updated code our Product team continually develops to enhance our readers’ experiences.
• Optimize content based on suggestions from your manager and tools such as ContentKing and AHREFs to help collateral such as blog posts and guides rank in search engines.
• Assist with off-site search engine optimization tactics.
• Measure search engine optimization performance.
• Kick ass.

A note: If you don’t know what some of these bullets mean, that’s a-OK. We don’t expect you to come knowing these things. The ideal candidate will be open to learning on the job. If you like patterns, puzzles, and problem-solving, you’ll kick butt at this role.

Job Requirements:
• You’re an ambitious self-starter.
• You’re intrigued by puzzles.
• You work well with minimal guidance but you ask lots of questions first to make sure you’re meeting expectations.
• You like to focus but respect when the company asks you to pivot.
• You’re detail- and goal-oriented.
• You’re inquisitive and determined.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You care deeply about the quality of the work you produce. You don’t stop at “good enough”.
• Other duties as assigned.

The “That’d Be Great”:
• Pursuing a degree in management information systems (MIS), math stuff, general business, marketing, communications—that sort of thing.
• Prior experience in content marketing, blogging, or SEO.
• Basic HTML skills are a plus, too.
• You’re a Mac user and early adopter.
• You relish reading blogs and listening to TED talks in your downtime.
• About CoSchedule’s Marketing Internship Program:
• The position may run 6-12 months in length (or more) and is available only for students enrolled in a higher education program. Hours range from 15-20 per week.
• Ideally, we like to train in interns to stick around for at least two semesters.
• The internship will end upon graduation from a higher education program (or sooner). There is currently no plan to make this a full-time position—it is a temporary part-time internship position.

What You Get From This Internship:
• You will not make copies or fetch us coffee. We will try to maximize your schedule to complete as much work as you’re able to give you some great marketing experience for your resume.
• This internship offers a “real work” experience. You will take on ownership of programs and projects with a team of marketers. Unlike some internships, this is not a fluffy “program” where you collaborate with other interns and pitch something creative or cutesy to higher-ups. You will be responsible for completing real marketing work that has a high potential for generating results. You will work as an extension of your manager to execute the marketing strategy. We see this more as a part-time, entry-level position rather than the standard definition of an internship.
• You will get the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative marketing team that does world-class work. Our marketing team attracts millions of website visitors and converts hundreds of thousands of software users every year. Teamwork in business is different than in school—there are no free rides, and we all pull our weight.
• You will get experience in the software as a service (SaaS) industry. We do things differently in our space because the internet is our marketplace—it’s global business at scale. If you’re interested in tech and marketing, an internship with us will be really fun
