This role requires a highly regarded, thoughtful self-starter with the confidence and the experience to guide and shape a communications agenda that has executive endorsement. This leader will serve as a true business partner to executive leadership; understand the business and give/provide counsel all while driving results. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success managing stakeholders in a large, people-centric organization with a broad portfolio of businesses. This role works frequently and collaboratively with divisional communications teams to ensure a cohesive seamless communication of information both internally and externally to our customers, communities and employees.

Overall Responsibilities Include
• Partner closely with the Chief People Officer, Chairman & CEO, Company Board, Executive Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders to create an overarching communications strategy; ensuring it is closely aligned with business objectives and is integrated and consistently articulated to all of Cox Enterprises' stakeholders (including employees, media, industry leaders/influencers, customers, vendors, community leaders and the general public).
• Responsible for bringing to life the Cox Enterprises narrative and increasing, where appropriate, the visibility and positive messaging of Cox Enterprises, the company's portfolio of brands, and it's visibility as a "Great Place to Work," to all key stakeholders.
• Manage the day to day operations of a complex, fast-moving communications organization, with the ability to drive flawless execution, pivot as needed, and provide leadership as a "player/coach."
• Positively position the company, Chairman and top executives through proactive messaging, creating and seizing opportunities to drive this strategy both internally and externally; help determine when the company should speak up, and how to do so with tremendous intentionality.
• Collaborate with the Leadership Team and Chief People Officer to develop and drive communications strategies/support for any confidential and time sensitive M&A, integration and change initiatives.
• Create a strategic and proactive internal communications plan to educate, align and engage employees around the mission and business objectives, including change management communications initiatives
• Develop and manage an effective crisis and issues management program that signals an early warning for any scenario that could be disruptive to the business. Anticipate, identify and mitigate communications and reputation risk.
• Develop and lead a team of strong communicators who can operate well in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate capabilities needed to manage communication for multiple stakeholders across multiple businesses.
• Further strengthen Cox's Community Relations to ensure alignment with the business goals of the company and its people, and fully leveraging its visibility in, and impact on, the communities it serves.
• Represents Cox in the community at local and national levels through various external, not-for-profit organizations including multiple national partners.
• Works in tandem with the Cox Conserves team on community and employee-based, sustainability-focused programs that support the company's objectives in water, waste and energy conservation.
• Act as key representative in the company's championing and development of ethical, environmentally-friendly and community minded business practices.
• Design and develop processes and standards to effectively monitor and analyze communications campaigns and efforts.
• Direct and manage PR agency relationships; Oversee PR agency efforts and develop tracking system to measure results.
Professional Characteristics
• 15-20+ years of progressive communications /public relations experience, ideally in a large, matrixed organization; leading the corporate communications function in an organization with well-respected brands.
• Executive presence, a polished, articulate leader with "low ego," and the ability to inspire confidence among senior leaders and all stakeholders with whom this person will interact.
• Demonstrated track record of success in leading a large corporate communications team with proven achievement with inspirational team building.
• Passionate, high-energy executive with the commitment and enthusiasm to take on complex, challenging situations in a dynamic organization; and the ability to envision, articulate, and realize both process and program improvements within the communications department.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build rapport with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to positively motivate, lead, and build consensus across all corporate business units.
• Strong strategic planning skills, solid understanding of the business, and ability to build and nurture relationships at the highest levels in a corporate environment.
• Experience in media training and crisis communications.
• Extensive network and positive working relationships with leaders in the communications industry.
• Fundamental communication expertise is a must, especially exceptionally strong writing, editing and presentation skills.
• Strong experience/knowledge of social media tools and techniques for driving reputation and brand, and advancing messaging across key channels
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field is required. An advanced degree such as an MBA would be highly desirable.

• Work with your manager to understand, meet and exceed goals and objectives
Create, maintain, and share action plans with your manager based on daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of all performance metrics; track and adjust short-term and long-term planning as necessary

What You'll Do:
The Inside Regional Sales Manager-Upsell is responsible for generating upselling to existing clients to meet assigned sales quotas within an assigned territory via outbound/Inbound calls and inbound leads.

• You will advise and educate the customer on the best solutions and negotiate the pricing while leveraging the Challenger selling process
• Collaborate with Inside Sales and Product Consultants to properly transition accounts for demonstrations
• Qualify the Dealer/Needs Analysis by determining solutions current clients have in place
• Challenge clients to think differently to overcome their objections to secure qualified meetings and close the virtual meeting
• Work with your manager to understand, meet and exceed goals and objectives
Create, maintain, and share action plans with your manager based on daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of all performance metrics; track and adjust short-term and long-term planning as necessary

The AJC's expansion into this area of journalism will be a key part of our reinvention from a storied local newspaper to a modern media company expanding its mission across Atlanta, Georgia, the South and elsewhere.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced content and team leader who has a proven record of driving engaging and essential coverage. This leader must have vision and passion for listening to and serving readers
The role will be at the manager or senior manager level, , depending on experience and qualifications, and will work with senior AJC leadership to establish the scope and vision of coverage and the goals and impacts that will determine success in driving subscriptions and loyalty. This leader will also be responsible for building a team and establishing roles and responsibilities.
Currently, Unapologetically Atlanta is served in a newsletter and events; future platforms could include a podcast, videos and other formats depending on vision and plans developed by this editor and senior leaders.
Key Job Roles And Tasks
Supervise day-to-day coverage and short and long-range plans and execution of a specific area of journalism or collection of areas of journalism.
• Lead the strategy and execution for a specified area of content, ensuring all audiences are well-served with content.
• Keep up with the news of the team's coverage area by reading, monitoring external data and consultation with others and sets the agenda through plans communicated to the team.
• Create or direct the creation of content plans for ongoing coverage, special events and breaking news. Create or direct the creation of a "budget" of stories for collaborative use across the newsroom, communicate and coordinate plans to colleagues
• Evaluate and edit stories/articles to ensure news value, clarity, readability, comprehensiveness, accuracy, balance and fairness.
Set the goals and vision for the relevant coverage area and designs systems and processes to ensure those goals and visions are carried out.
• Develop a high level of expertise in the coverage area of the team though reader research, audience analytics, government reports, study of coverage from other organizations
• Establish short-range and long-range coverage plans through various avenues including brainstorming meetings, story meetings with reporters and consultation with leadership colleagues
• Act on and incorporate knowledge from audience metrics and research into the plan.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
Collaborate with other newsroom senior editors and managers to calibrate and coordinate high-level changes in resources, priorities and plans.
• Effectively communicate upcoming plans and challenges through written and verbal communication and meetings
• Adjust priorities and resources according to changing circumstances, sharing resources with other teams when necessary
• Assist with identifying development opportunities for newsroom at large
Coach and performance-manage a multi-disciplined, high-achieving team to ever improving results, managing productivity and quality of contributions to AJC journalism. Recruit and, in consultation with senior leadership, hire when openings on the team occur.
• Create an environment focused on continuous learning and improvement, fostering close-knit collaboration.
• Inspire non-traditional thinking and risk-taking ideas and improvements; inspire team to reach higher for themselves and to participate in newsroom continuous improvement
• Evaluate the work of team members and identify performance gaps. Address gaps through coaching and inspiration and, when necessary, more formal performance improvement plans
• Identify and act on development opportunities for team members
• Fully embrace the AJC newsroom commitment to diversity and inclusion through recruiting, hiring and development practices
• Assist in recruitment to find quality talent and take a leading role on hiring practices and decisions for team openings
Other duties that may vary seasonally or with news cycle, including participation in special project teams, task forces and other activities that contribute to wider leadership of the business enterprise. Qualifications
• 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership role;
