Central Piedmont is currently seeking a PT Instructor Political Science position in our Behavioral and Social Science Division. Position will serve multi-campus.
We are seeking instructors to teach American Government (POL 120) in an in-person format. This course is a study of the origins, development, structure, and functions of American government. Topics include the constitutional framework, federalism, the three branches of government including the bureaucracy, civil rights and liberties, political participation and
behavior, and the policy process.

The Behavioral & Social Sciences Division fosters a creative learning environment for students and faculty and encourages student learning in critical thinking and personal growth. The division supports programs at the college and in the local community.

b. Teach credit or non-credit courses within field or discipline as needed.
c. Post and maintain regular office hours to ensure accessibility to colleagues and to students for advisement and consultation.
d. Serve as faculty advisor within the current college advisement system.
e. Prepare, distribute, and submit syllabi and approved course outlines for all assigned sections in accordance with program and divisional policies.
f. Maintain confidentiality of student information.
g. Substitute for other instructors within field or discipline in case of an absence.
h. Exercise stewardship of college facilities and materials.
i. Record and provide attendance data in accordance with College Policies and Procedures.
V. Participation in College, Division, and Program Activities
