The Opportunity

As a dedicated Director, Technical Creative Design, you will work with all ECIO organizations, leading a team to deliver on their multi-media and design needs. You will also work with a variety of multi-media, including presentation design, motion picture graphics, videography, and photography.

Accountable for the on-brief creative deliverables of their teams, the Director of Creative Services establishes creative direction, facilitates on-time delivery, and ensures all work meets or exceeds quality standards, by inspiring excellence in ideation, execution, and production while fostering productive, collaborative relationships with team members and partners across USAA to ensure the right creative direction and outputs.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:
• Accountable for fulfilling on the creative brief by setting the creative direction and meeting or exceeding output quality standards for team’s ultimate creative outputs and deliverables.
• Ensures comprehension of, alignment to, and viability of creative briefs for use by creative team members.
• Leads the creative process from concept to completion, maintaining integrity of the project creative direction across channels and tactics for strategically integrated outputs.
• Represents the larger creative team, immediate team, and the teams’ work, to partners and collaborators.
• Consults with and influences partners to ensure all creative campaigns and projects are produced on time, on budget and on brief.
• Leads creative assignments and monitors capacity & workflow for team members.
• Ensures creative and brand standards are met on all campaigns and projects.
• Leads development of creative staff across creative fields and channels including development of integrated multichannel campaigns; deployment of, execution to, and evolution of creative platforms and style guides; and effective creative pitch/presentations.
• Identifies and implements industry standard methodologies, tools, and processes for creative practice and operations.
• Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:
• Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 8 years of progressive related experience within the creative development, design, copy, production, and media planning functions and demonstrated ability to integrate and coordinate internal and external resources.
• 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to apply marketing principles, industry standard methodologies, and emerging trends to develop and implement successful creative services strategies.
• Expert experience using conceptual and critical thinking to balance creativity and innovation with business objectives.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $120,550.00 - $230,400.00.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

What you'll do
• Read books/watch series, identify USPs and key moments, and translate into creative briefs
