Required Qualifications

Program Development and Oversight
• Provides general oversight of all programmatic units, including program development, management and Student Services

The Chief Information Security Officer is a leadership role that enables the CSU's academic, research, and public service mission (Student Success). leadership in utilizing student retention/graduation data analytics
in academic advising. The incumbent will collaborate with the CNSM
Associate Dean, CNSM Data Fellows Team, University Registrar, CNSM
Coordinator of Advising, CNSM Staff Advisors, Undergraduate Faculty
Advisors, CNSM Department Chairs, Jensen Student Access to Natural
Sciences and Mathematics (SAS) Center staff, and University Center
for Undergraduate Advising to create a CNSM graduation/retention
actionable data set and modify advising policies consistent with
CNSM GI 2025 retention and graduation goals.
The Senior Academic Advisor/Graduation Analyst will work
collaboratively with department-based staff and faculty advisors,
department chairs, campus advising community, and Enrollment
Services. They will maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of
university policy and procedures, as well as degree requirements
across CNSM, disseminate reports and data to the Advising
Coordinator and Dean's office, and conduct ongoing analysis of
retention and deferred graduation data to identify common trends
and issues. They will provide academic advisement and information
on university policies, procedures, resources, and graduation
requirements to assist students with the resolution of graduation
or enrollment obstacles, using a preventative approach in solving
problems impacting retention and graduation and providing multiple
solutions when appropriate.
The incumbent will exercise sound and ethical judgment in adherence
with Title V regulations in the creation of specific action plans
for degree completion and effectively communicate this information
to students and university personnel. They will serve on college
committees related to retention and graduation goals and
initiatives, support advising, retention, and graduation efforts.
In collaboration with the Associate Dean, the Senior Academic
Advisor/Graduation Analyst will make decisions in individual
student cases to resolve problems where guidelines and precedents
do not exist.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive academic advising to CNSM general
undergraduate population using interviewing and counseling
techniques, in one-to-one appointments, “quick questions,” and in
workshop settings.
• Collect, compile, analyze, and evaluate student data, reports,
and/or documents for the CNSM Advising Center. This includes, but
is not limited to, advising forms, degree progress reports,
Education Advisory Board (EAB) data, CS Link reports, and student
files.
• Identify students at risk and prioritize those needing
interventions and help. Advise students on where to get assistance;
help set up support groups.
• Collaborate with the associate dean and the CNSM Data Fellows
Team to develop actionable data analytics to inform advising
decisions and policies for majors/pre-majors and assessing student
progress and potential barriers to success.
• Create and build activities that support the college's student
success, engagement, and diversity initiatives, as well as those
