The Position

The faculty of the University Library at California State
University Dominguez Hills invites applications for full-time
temporary librarian positions in the University Library's
Reference, Instruction, and Outreach Services (RIOS) department.
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are
filled as needed, based on funding. Candidates may need to be
available to begin in a position on short notice.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, technologically savvy,
user-centered, and collaborative and collegial professionals with
experience providing research assistance, teaching information
literacy, and willingness to engage in outreach initiatives in
academic libraries.

Full-time librarians in the Reference, Instruction, and Outreach
Services department provide online and face-to-face research
assistance; teach course-integrated information literacy
instruction sessions; and participate in the development of online
guides, FAQs, videos, tutorials, and other outreach and
instructional materials.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an
ALA-accredited institution or international equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to the library's

Department of Marital & Family Therapy

The Department of Marital & Family Therapy at CSU Dominguez
Hills is a department within the College of Health, Human Services
and Nursing (CHHSN). The Master of Science Degree in Marital &
Family Therapy is the result of a 64-unit program that is both
academic and clinical in its emphasis. It is also approved by the
California Board of Behavioral Sciences and attracts both full-time
and part-time students. It is intended for students who wish to
prepare for MFT internships and licensure after graduation.

The Position

The successful candidates will be expected to teach core and
specialization courses in the Marital and Family Therapy Program,
as well as supervise students through the practicum courses.
Faculty members are also expected to demonstrate scholarly
productivity, as reflected in publications and professional

limited to student advising/mentoring, admissions, curriculum
assessment and development, participation in program governance as
a core faculty member, and university service. Candidates must

The Department of Earth Science offers degree
programs in both Earth Science and Geography. Both programs feature
a strong emphasis on understanding the natural world and human
management of its natural resources. We also offer minors in Earth
Science and Geography and a certificate program in Geotechniques
(which features technical courses in Geography and Earth Science
methodologies, such as GIS, remote sensing, cartography, and field
mapping). In addition to general education courses in geography and
earth science, students can take upper division courses in
atmospheric science and global change; oceanography, surface water
and groundwater; geological processes (environmental geology, plate
tectonics, and geomorphology); and natural resources, biogeography,
and environmental analysis (in both rural and urban environments).
The department's emphasizes field activities and hands-on
experiences. Many of our courses include field trips that provide
opportunities for students to experience firsthand the topics
covered in class. Field trip locations include the Palos Verdes
Peninsula and Santa Monica Mountains, as well as more distant
destinations such as the Sierra Nevada Range, Mono Lake, Mojave
National Preserve, Death Valley, and Mt. San Jacinto. The
combination of classroom, field, and laboratory experiences enable
our students to find employment in diverse fields such as
urban/regional planning, environmental monitoring and consulting,
