JOB SUMMARY

appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

• Design and teach courses in Educational Psychology and

program and at graduate levels.
• Implement high impact instructional strategies in their
teaching.
• Implement high impact advising practices.
• Work with credential and graduate students within PK-12 school

• Participate in committee assignments at the department,
college, and university-wide levels.
• Supervise student teachers through a large service region (San

The Department of Theatre Arts is composed of artist educators with
diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are dedicated to continuing
to diversify our faculty. The commitment to diversity extends to
the production program. Our seasons of past productions have been
selected to represent a variety of plays. Works presented include
the classics (Shakespeare, Brecht, Moliere, Miller etc.), Outside
the European Canon (Calderon De La Barca, Carlyle Brown, Kirsten
Greenidge etc.), Plays for Young Audiences (A Wrinkle in Time,
Jackie Robinson Story and others) Puppet works, Touring Shows, New
plays, Student plays and Devised works. The Department of Theatre
Arts grants an undergraduate BA in theatre. The degree allows
students to develop expertise within an area (Musical Theatre,
Theatre Education, Technical Theatre, and Performance). Our
students work as Professional Artists, Educators (at all levels)
and in a variety of other careers. Construction has begun for a new
Performing Arts facility that will add a 500-seat theatre and
rehearsal/studio spaces. The current faculty includes a strong mix
of expertise to support the degree. The department has worked over
twenty years with the California Arts Project and the California
Subject Matter Projects developing State and National Standards and
Frameworks in Theatre and Dance. Recently California approved the

JOB SUMMARY
California State University, San Bernardino Department of Theatre
Arts seeks an accomplished theatre artist/director with a primary
focus in Educational Theatre for a full time, tenure track position
beginning August 2023. We seek a Theatre Generalist with strong
Performance based skills in addition to an extensive background in
Drama education, TYA, and applied drama. We particularly seek a
candidate to further develop Youth theatre and collaborate with
CSUSB's Education Department on California's newly reinstated
Single Subject Credential in Theatre.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in developing
performance and production skills. For example: TYA, contemporary
and classic acting styles, movement, voice,
theatre-for-social-justice, devised theatre. Strong resume in
directing will be desirable. All faculty teach general education
courses such as Introduction to Theatre, Acting for All Majors,
Dramatic Literature, and Oral interpretation.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in
teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working
effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of
disciplines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Drama, Theatre or Theatre for
the Young Audiences completed no later than August 2023.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Theatre Arts is composed of artist educators with
diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are dedicated to continuing
to diversify our faculty. The commitment to diversity extends to
the production program. Our seasons of past productions have been
selected to represent a variety of plays. Works presented include
the classics (Shakespeare, Brecht, Moliere, Miller etc.), Outside
the European Canon (Calderon De La Barca, Carlyle Brown, Kirsten
Greenidge etc.), Plays for Young Audiences (A Wrinkle in Time,
Jackie Robinson Story and others) Puppet works, Touring Shows, New
plays, Student plays and Devised works. The Department of Theatre
Arts grants an undergraduate BA in theatre. The degree allows
students to develop expertise within an area (Musical Theatre,
Theatre Education, Technical Theatre, and Performance). Our
students work as Professional Artists, Educators (at all levels)
and in a variety of other careers. Construction has begun for a new
Performing Arts facility that will add a 500-seat theatre and
rehearsal/studio spaces. The current faculty includes a strong mix
of expertise to support the degree. The department has worked over
twenty years with the California Arts Project and the California
Subject Matter Projects developing State and National Standards and
Frameworks in Theatre and Dance. Recently California approved the
teaching credential in theatre. This opportunity to develop and
support skilled teachers to our region, combined with recent
retirements, has provided the opportunity to reinforce and extend

JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling
at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications
for a full-time placement coordinator in Counseling beginning
August 2023. The Counseling program is a master's degree program
that houses two distinct concentrations: professional counseling
and school counseling. We are searching for a full-time person to
serve as placement liaison for up to 175 students in the masters in
counseling program on both the San Bernardino and Palm Desert
campuses. Students in the masters degree in counseling program are
pursuing both LPCC licensure and a PPS credential and are required
to complete practice hours as part of their educational
experiences. Standards stipulate hours are regulated and vetted by
the CTC for a PPS credential and the Board of Behavioral Sciences
for licensure.
Applicants will possess a minimum of a masters degree in counseling
or a related degree, with intimate knowledge about the MS in
counseling program, and the specific geographical needs and
demographics on both campuses. Applicants should possess a blend of
skill to advise students, coordinating large amounts of
information, managing multiple needs of students, school sites,
mental health sites, on-site placement supervisors, and
faculty.
The ideal applicant will have exceptional skills at developing
management information systems to train supervisors in the
community, articulate the flows of placement experiences for
individual students using online tracking portals, ensure standards
are being adhered to and updated as needed, developing new sites
throughout the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley, ensure that
memorandums of understanding are in place, and working closely with
the faculty in the program as well as the entire student
body.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Typical activities for a placement coordinator includes,
but not limited to:
Training
• Develop online training modules for onsite supervisors at
schools & mental health sites as to expectations and
responsibilities for successful supervision of students using
management information systems like Qualtrics and google.
• Train supervisors of LPCC students for requirements.
• Train & support university supervisors (faculty) as to what
is needed for ongoing supervision of students.
• Keep students and onsite supervisors and university supervisors
abreast of changes in the manual or protocols.
Placement Activities and Coordination
• Secure new site in schools and mental health sites.
• Continues to work with long term school partners to establish
creative programs.
• Initiate, develop and oversee
programs like the Lincoln Counseling Center.
• Develop and maintain the
vitality and growth of the Coyote
Counseling Center.
• Meets collectively every term with students to prepare
them for placement, educating students about placement, hours,
forms, etc.
• Meets individually with students to answer questions
and advise them as to placements and provides ongoing
advising.
• Create & maintain a database of available sites for
students to select from.
• Address problems that might arise if a student is struggling in
a placement.
• Serves on the Wellness advisory board at SBUCSD.
Consultation and Collaboration
• Coordinate with student services to ensure each students are
cleared by
HR departments at a school.
• Work in tandem with the program coordinator to update the field
manual annually.
• Place students in placements sections based on need and
geography in conjunction with ASC.
Data and Reporting
• Track hours for student's overall progress as to hours
accrued and at what level to ensure students graduate with the
requisite 800 hours at 2 separate K-12 sites + 280 LPCC mental
health hours. Also needs to ensure students are adhering to a ⅔
direct to ⅓ indirect ratio for all pps
hours/experience.
• Collate student observation data for annual reports,
accreditation, etc. regarding collected data (observations, scores
of student's performance, etc)
• Collect and maintain evaluation data about supervisors and
sites.
• Provide data for the ongoing accreditation for both the BBS
(Professional Clinical Counseling Track) and the CTC (School
Counseling Concentration).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters degree in Counseling or a related degree.

JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling
at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications
for a full-time placement coordinator in Counseling beginning
August 2023. The Counseling program is a master's degree program
that houses two distinct concentrations: professional counseling
and school counseling. We are searching for a full-time person to
serve as placement liaison for up to 175 students in the masters in
counseling program on both the San Bernardino and Palm Desert
campuses. Students in the masters degree in counseling program are
pursuing both LPCC licensure and a PPS credential and are required
to complete practice hours as part of their educational
experiences. Standards stipulate hours are regulated and vetted by
the CTC for a PPS credential and the Board of Behavioral Sciences
for licensure.
Applicants will possess a minimum of a masters degree in counseling
or a related degree, with intimate knowledge about the MS in
counseling program, and the specific geographical needs and
demographics on both campuses. Applicants should possess a blend of
skill to advise students, coordinating large amounts of
information, managing multiple needs of students, school sites,
mental health sites, on-site placement supervisors, and
faculty.
The ideal applicant will have exceptional skills at developing
management information systems to train supervisors in the
community, articulate the flows of placement experiences for
individual students using online tracking portals, ensure standards
are being adhered to and updated as needed, developing new sites
throughout the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley, ensure that
memorandums of understanding are in place, and working closely with
the faculty in the program as well as the entire student
body.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Typical activities for a placement coordinator includes,
but not limited to:
Training
• Develop online training modules for onsite supervisors at
schools & mental health sites as to expectations and
responsibilities for successful supervision of students using
management information systems like Qualtrics and google.
• Train supervisors of LPCC students for requirements.
• Train & support university supervisors (faculty) as to what
is needed for ongoing supervision of students.
• Keep students and onsite supervisors and university supervisors
abreast of changes in the manual or protocols.
Placement Activities and Coordination
• Secure new site in schools and mental health sites.
• Continues to work with long term school partners to establish
creative programs.
• Initiate, develop and oversee
programs like the Lincoln Counseling Center.
• Develop and maintain the
vitality and growth of the Coyote
Counseling Center.
• Meets collectively every term with students to prepare
them for placement, educating students about placement, hours,
forms, etc.
• Meets individually with students to answer questions
and advise them as to placements and provides ongoing
advising.
• Create & maintain a database of available sites for
students to select from.
• Address problems that might arise if a student is struggling in
a placement.
• Serves on the Wellness advisory board at SBUCSD.
Consultation and Collaboration
• Coordinate with student services to ensure each students are
cleared by
HR departments at a school.
• Work in tandem with the program coordinator to update the field
manual annually.
• Place students in placements sections based on need and
geography in conjunction with ASC.
Data and Reporting
• Track hours for student's overall progress as to hours
accrued and at what level to ensure students graduate with the
requisite 800 hours at 2 separate K-12 sites + 280 LPCC mental
health hours. Also needs to ensure students are adhering to a ⅔
direct to ⅓ indirect ratio for all pps
hours/experience.
• Collate student observation data for annual reports,
accreditation, etc. regarding collected data (observations, scores
of student's performance, etc)
• Collect and maintain evaluation data about supervisors and
sites.
• Provide data for the ongoing accreditation for both the BBS
(Professional Clinical Counseling Track) and the CTC (School
Counseling Concentration).

JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Physics at California State University, San
Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified
applicants for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position to
begin August 2023. The Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in
Physics, with minors in astronomy and applied physics, and is
currently in the planning stages for an interdisciplinary M.S.
degree in Materials Science, which is associated with the Center
for Advanced Functional Materials (https://www.csusb.edu/center-advanced-functional-materials).

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach
courses within the full range of undergraduate department courses.
The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating
and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity. We are

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in
Physics, maintain a robust and ongoing research agenda, and mentor
students at the undergraduate level. Candidates will be expected to
maintain an active research program appropriate for an
undergraduate institution that affords research opportunities for
students. The candidate will also advise students and perform
career related service roles on and off campus for the department,
college, university and professional societies. Furthermore, the
candidate will also lead activities that will advance scholarly
excellence in Physics. The successful candidate will be expected to
meet the traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active
scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and
community.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in
teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working
effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of
disciplines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Physics or an equivalent
degree in a closely related area by time of appointment. However,
candidates with "all but dissertation" (ABD) are considered as long
as expected to complete the Ph.D. by the time of the appointment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching
and conducting research with undergraduate students and could teach
a broad spectrum of undergraduate physics courses and in our
upcoming Material Science MS program.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Physics currently offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in
Physics, with minors in astronomy and applied physics, and is in
the planning stages for an interdisciplinary M.S. degree in
Materials Science, which is associated with the NSF CREST-funded
Center for Advanced Functional Materials (https://www.csusb.edu/center-advanced-functional-materials).
Our faculty are actively involved in research and in professional
organizations in their respective fields. Faculty have been
successful in obtaining grants through the funding organizations
such as NSF and NASA, in particular for multi-million-dollar,
interdisciplinary programs both with faculty at CSUSB and external
collaborators. Faculty members utilize and are engaged in
understanding best practices in physics education. We have
approximately 100 majors,9 tenure-line faculty, and 9 lecturers,
with a gender balance among both tenure-line and lecturer faculty
members.
Our department ranked number three in the number of physics degrees
granted to underrepresented minority students at bachelor's
institutions and number ten in physics degrees granted to Hispanic
students among all institutions nationally. A significant number of
students participate in research with CSUSB faculty. The department
is actively involved in and a strong supporter of the Cal-Bridge
program (https://www.calbridge.org) and a
current PhysTEC grantee. CSUSB physics alums have successfully
transitioned to graduate school at institutions such as Arizona,
Maryland, UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCM, and/or been hired at companies such
as Tokyo Electron, Lockheed Martin, NASA Armstrong, Naval Surface
Warfare Center, Kelly Space, Millennium Space Systems/Boeing, and
