Internship Summary:
The Social Media intern is someone who has interestand experience in creating digital content for social media. This role wouldwork with the Social Media Editor to transform graphic, audio, and visualcontent for news, talk shows, and other digital storytelling projects intovisually compelling shareable posts for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X.

We're looking for someone to assist in the planning and execution of creating digital collateral for posting on social platforms. Digital collateral includes but is not limited to: audio grams, short form video, graphic content, templated quote/text only visuals and story formats. A learning environment might include work in writing and editing social news content from our award-winning newsroom using creative and cutting edge digital "shorts", reviewing posts and other content pieces for spelling, grammar and accuracy, and ensuring all content maintains the Connecticut Public brand voice. Through all, the intern can expect to support the vision, strategy and content development for social media properties and adhere to Connecticut Public's ethical guidelines.

Interns can expect to work a maximum of 20 hours per week. Individual scheduling and days/times of work can be negotiated with the applicable Manager. Interns are all paid bi-weekly and must complete Timecards. All interns are required to attend a Newcomer's Orientation, scheduled for their first day.

Internship Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Analyze competitor's social media involvement and bring awareness of market changes and development.
• Deliver content on tight deadlines and with precision timing.
• In collaboration with the Social Media team, monitor and enhance the social community for CT Public and its brand
Integrate content into multiple social distribution channels.

General Summary

The Connecticut Public newsroom is part of a content team that includes 60 journalists –reporters, talk show producers, visual journalists and many others – who are charged with making Connecticut Public a relevant news and information source for people who care about Connecticut. Connecticut Public is a collaborative organization, so we’re looking for a team player and someone who can communicate and coordinate with colleagues – and be open to learning from them.

General Summary

The reporter will be based in Hartford, the state capital, and will monitor daily and weekly developments during the legislative session, but will also find meaningful stories about how the laws passed by lawmakers affect real people, and identify important stories about politics and government around the state. We’re looking for someone who can help explain how politics and policy intersect with public health, education, environment and communities of color, including Connecticut’s growing Latino community. Talk Show Production interns assist CT Public Radio
producers in the production and development of our flagship daily shows and weekly programs (Where We Live, Colin McEnroe Show, Audacious, The Wheelhouse, and Disrupted.) A learning environment might include work with producing, writing, and editing for live and pre-taped shows, either fully virtual or on-site. These shows are interactive, combining

The Content Team and CT Public's Storytelling and Originals Team provides training in website production,
