POSITION PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Instruction, the Dean,
Online Education and Learning Resources provides vision,
leadership, and administrative oversight for the Online Education
Center and Library Services. The Dean directs, organizes, and
manages division-wide educational planning and program development
in accordance with the missions, goals and objectives of the
College and division. In collaboration with Finance and Educational
Resources, the Dean provides leadership of campus-wide technology
enhanced learning efforts. The Dean facilitates communication and
support between the departments within the Learning Resources
Division and between the Division and other related divisions and
departments across the campus. The Dean facilitates development of
external community partnerships, resources, and other
opportunities.

The Dean is responsible for the various processes necessary to
provide high-quality online instruction, to support and implement
virtual and in-person instructional technology, to ensure access to
the highest quality digital and physical learning resources
necessary for student success, and to support to the wide variety
of instructional programs across the campus.

NATURE and SCOPE:

The Dean of Online Education and Learning Resources supervises
Librarians, Library Technicians, Computer Lab Coordinators,
Distance Learning Center Staff, Instructional Designers, Faculty
Coordinator of Equity in Online Education, and Division
Administrative Assistant.

The Dean supports, implements, and advances the college's
commitment to equity, multicultural education, and social justice
in all aspects of employment and education, staffing, curriculum,
programs, and services.

Due to the campus-wide nature of the division, the Dean works with
faculty, classified staff, and administrators in instructional
divisions, student services, ETS, finance and educational
resources, and FHDA central services to achieve institutional
goals.

KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities are typical but not
limited to the following:
• Working with the Associate Vice President of Instruction and
the Vice President of Instruction, develop, implement, and promote
policies and procedures, programs, resources, and services for
Online Education and Library Services.
• Work with the leaders in Online Education and Library Services
to implement effective pedagogies, technologies, and methodologies
in their respective programs, including oversight of program
review, learning outcomes, and curriculum review and
development.
• Monitor and facilitate pedagogically sound growth of Online
Education and Library Services and make recommendations for
policies and practices to promote student engagement and
success.
• Review college, state, and federal laws, codes, policies, and
procedures related to online education and learning resources;
apprise others of pending or needed changes to current practice;
recommend the development of or revision to related policies and
procedures; ensure that programs and courses delivered and the
operation of distance learning delivery systems are in compliance
with such policies and codes.
• Develop, implement, and manage the Division budget; monitor
categorical and foundation accounts; seek additional sources of
funding for the Division.
• Implement personnel policies and practices.
• Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate faculty and staff in the
Library and Online Education.
• Support, implement, and promote compliance with the District's
Diversity and Equal Opportunity Plan in all aspects of employment
and education; encourage cultural and ethnic diversity in staffing,
curriculum, programs, and services.
• Research, support, implement, and promote instructional
technology as related to the Online Education and Learning
Resources Division programs.
• Serve on appropriate college and district committees, attend

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The Electric Distribution System Inspections leadership lead teams to ensure compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Order (GO) 165. The leaders ensure that the electric distribution operations system facilities are in compliance with General Orders 95 and 128 through an efficient, compliant execution of GO165 inspections and patrols as well as a comprehensive quality work verification process. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $118,000
Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

Responsibilities:
• Supervises a team in assigned geographic area to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely completion of work in compliance with the maintenance requirements of General Order (GO) 165 standards.
• Integrates GO 165 in the work/document verification process.
• Manages capital & expense budget for patrols, inspections, and electric corrective (EC) work. This includes tracking unit cost, productivity, minor work, and fleet management.
• Implements work practices that support reduced operating cost. Ensures level of resources support the patrol and inspection workload for assigned area.
• Ensures work verifications and auditable documentation/records are complete, accurate, and compliant per bulletin notices
• Tracks and reports work progress to Program Manager(s) for maintenance and compliance
• Ensures the qualified customer representatives (QCR's) who perform the facility condition assessments and subsequent maintenance are trained, knowledgeable and qualified to perform the assigned tasks.
• Supports Electric Program Management in managing the division maintenance program and implementation of all required practices. Works with the Quality Assurance Department when conducting periodic reviews of facility conditions, in preparation for CPUC audits, and in preparing and closing review and audit findings.
• Maps work for field QCR personnel, directing them to appropriate work sight.
• Completed maintenance work documentation and overall work progress. Ensures communication of updated information from inspections to the Mapping department.
• Interfaces with customers on sensitive issues surrounding inspections, such as gaining access to a customer's property.
• Manages subordinates' training to ensure completion by required due dates.
• Facilitates meetings to promote open communication and drive a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must obtain a California Drivers' License by first day of employment
• 6 years related experience in an electric utility, maintenance or construction or other technical line of business

DEFINITION

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

This is the first experienced-level class in the Administrative
Assistant series. Initially under more direct supervision,
incumbents with general office support experience perform work such
as customer service at the front counter and over the phone and
email; providing assistance to students, faculty, staff, and the
general public with program requirements, policies, procedures, and
eligibility questions; document preparation and completion; file
and records maintenance; scanning; data entry; and screening phone
calls and visitors, responding to emails, processing mail, and

walking between work areas is frequently required. Finger dexterity
is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer
keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and
reach to perform assigned duties, as well as push and pull drawers
open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must
possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and
objects up to 10 pounds with the use of proper equipment.
