POSITION PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Instruction, the Dean,
Online Education and Learning Resources provides vision,
leadership, and administrative oversight for the Online Education
Center and Library Services. The Dean directs, organizes, and
manages division-wide educational planning and program development
in accordance with the missions, goals and objectives of the
College and division. In collaboration with Finance and Educational
Resources, the Dean provides leadership of campus-wide technology
enhanced learning efforts. The Dean facilitates communication and
support between the departments within the Learning Resources
Division and between the Division and other related divisions and
departments across the campus. The Dean facilitates development of
external community partnerships, resources, and other
opportunities.

The Dean is responsible for the various processes necessary to
provide high-quality online instruction, to support and implement
virtual and in-person instructional technology, to ensure access to
the highest quality digital and physical learning resources
necessary for student success, and to support to the wide variety
of instructional programs across the campus.

NATURE and SCOPE:

The Dean of Online Education and Learning Resources supervises
Librarians, Library Technicians, Computer Lab Coordinators,
Distance Learning Center Staff, Instructional Designers, Faculty
Coordinator of Equity in Online Education, and Division
Administrative Assistant.

The Dean supports, implements, and advances the college's
commitment to equity, multicultural education, and social justice
in all aspects of employment and education, staffing, curriculum,
programs, and services.

Due to the campus-wide nature of the division, the Dean works with
faculty, classified staff, and administrators in instructional
divisions, student services, ETS, finance and educational
resources, and FHDA central services to achieve institutional
goals.

KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities are typical but not
limited to the following:
• Working with the Associate Vice President of Instruction and
the Vice President of Instruction, develop, implement, and promote
policies and procedures, programs, resources, and services for
Online Education and Library Services.
• Work with the leaders in Online Education and Library Services
to implement effective pedagogies, technologies, and methodologies
in their respective programs, including oversight of program
review, learning outcomes, and curriculum review and
development.
• Monitor and facilitate pedagogically sound growth of Online
Education and Library Services and make recommendations for
policies and practices to promote student engagement and
success.
• Review college, state, and federal laws, codes, policies, and
procedures related to online education and learning resources;
apprise others of pending or needed changes to current practice;
recommend the development of or revision to related policies and
procedures; ensure that programs and courses delivered and the
operation of distance learning delivery systems are in compliance
with such policies and codes.
• Develop, implement, and manage the Division budget; monitor
categorical and foundation accounts; seek additional sources of
funding for the Division.
• Implement personnel policies and practices.
• Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate faculty and staff in the
Library and Online Education.
• Support, implement, and promote compliance with the District's
Diversity and Equal Opportunity Plan in all aspects of employment
and education; encourage cultural and ethnic diversity in staffing,
curriculum, programs, and services.
• Research, support, implement, and promote instructional
technology as related to the Online Education and Learning
Resources Division programs.
• Serve on appropriate college and district committees, attend
administrator meetings, and participate in governance
meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters Degree in a field related to Library or Information
Science, Instructional Technology, Education, or Instructional
Design.

• Minimum of two years online teaching, instructional design, or
librarian experience in a college setting.
• Minimum of one year of administrative experience or increasing
leadership responsibilities in an educational setting.
• Experience in developing programs that promote enrollment
growth, retention and student success for distance learning,
library services or basic skills/academic support.
• Experience in managing and leading diverse stakeholders,
including team building, cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution,
and team projects.
• Knowledge and experience with shared governance principles;
recognizing the importance of the democratic process and fostering

• Ability to write funding proposals and grant annual

The Electric Distribution System Inspections leadership lead teams to ensure compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Order (GO) 165. Responsibilities:
• Supervises a team in assigned geographic area to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely completion of work in compliance with the maintenance requirements of General Order (GO) 165 standards.
• Integrates GO 165 in the work/document verification process.
• Manages capital & expense budget for patrols, inspections, and electric corrective (EC) work. This includes tracking unit cost, productivity, minor work, and fleet management.
• Implements work practices that support reduced operating cost. Ensures level of resources support the patrol and inspection workload for assigned area.
• Ensures work verifications and auditable documentation/records are complete, accurate, and compliant per bulletin notices
• Tracks and reports work progress to Program Manager(s) for maintenance and compliance
• Ensures the qualified customer representatives (QCR's) who perform the facility condition assessments and subsequent maintenance are trained, knowledgeable and qualified to perform the assigned tasks.
• Supports Electric Program Management in managing the division maintenance program and implementation of all required practices. Works with the Quality Assurance Department when conducting periodic reviews of facility conditions, in preparation for CPUC audits, and in preparing and closing review and audit findings.
• Maps work for field QCR personnel, directing them to appropriate work sight.
• Completed maintenance work documentation and overall work progress. Ensures communication of updated information from inspections to the Mapping department.
• Interfaces with customers on sensitive issues surrounding inspections, such as gaining access to a customer's property.
• Manages subordinates' training to ensure completion by required due dates.
• Facilitates meetings to promote open communication and drive a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

This is the first experienced-level class in the Administrative
Assistant series. Initially under more direct supervision,
incumbents with general office support experience perform work such

eligibility questions; document preparation and completion; file
and records maintenance; scanning; data entry; and screening phone

• Coordinate live, in-class, post-production, and transcript captioning each quarter by analyzing needs and determining resource allocation; schedule personnel; monitor appropriate budgets; and in collaboration with the Broadcast Media Center and Distance Learning, schedule live and post-production captioning.
• In collaboration with Instructional Divisions and other campus departments, inventory pre-produced videotapes, prioritize captioning; obtain required permissions and releases from copyright holders; schedule and produce captioned videotapes to replace existing copies; create develop, and maintain a college-wide database of all captioned materials.
• Establish and monitor program budgets and expenditures; propose budget changes and participate in budget planning and projections.
• Represent the Deaf Services program at meetings; establish appropriate linkages with special populations and community groups served; promote the Deaf Services program through participation in advocacy groups, associations, and other local, regional, and/or national organizations; represent the Deaf Services program and the college at conferences, seminars, and workshops.

Job Summary
The Athletic Department at De Anza College is committed to guiding diverse students toward success in academics, athletic competition and citizenship, by providing opportunities where they have access to resources to support their growth and development. This position serves a critical role in helping our department support student-athletes on and off the field of competition.
Under general supervision, the Equipment and Facilities Assistant will maintain, issue, inventory, launder, and store athletic uniforms and equipment. This position will maintain athletics facilities in a clean and sanitary condition and perform other critical functions as assigned. Additionally, the position will work directly with coaches, sports medicine staff, and athletic administration to promote student-athlete success and equity.
This full-time position reports to the Director of Athletics and Student-Athlete Success as well as the Dean of Physical Education and Athletics. The selected candidate will start the onboarding process this spring with his/her assignment beginning in spring or summer 2023.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, maintains, issues, inventories, launders, and stores athletic uniforms and equipment; maintains athletics facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; and performs related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the Athletics Director or a Dean. Provides technical and functional direction and training to student workers.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is a journey-level classification responsible for the inventory and maintenance of athletic equipment, uniforms, supplies, and facilities. Typical duties include maintaining athletic equipment inventory, athletic event and class set-up, requesting maintenance services for athletic facilities, laundering, and preparing uniforms, equipment, and supplies for competitive games. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from the Facilities and Equipment Coordinator in that the latter has primary responsibility for coordinating the scheduling, use, and maintenance of equipment and facilities for students, student-athletes, and rental groups in assigned department so that classes, competitions, and outside events operate safely and efficiently.

EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL FUNCTIONS (Illustrative Only)
• Prepares and maintains playing fields, courts, and related facilities in a clean, safe, and orderly condition for kinesiology classes, practices and special events, tournaments, playoffs, and competitions; makes minor repairs to and performs minor maintenance on assigned facilities.
• Sets up and tears down designated areas of assignment; prepares down markers, clocks, flags, nets, goals, and other materials needed for kinesiology classes, practices and special events, tournaments, playoffs, and competitions; waters and marks the fields as needed; performs game clock duties as needed.
• Maintains athletic and kinesiology equipment, supplies, and uniforms in good repair and in a sanitary condition; arranges for equipment to be cleaned, reconditioned, and repaired; completes work orders for needed maintenance and repairs.
• Issues and collects uniforms, equipment, and supplies for kinesiology classes, practice, and competitive use; maintains records of equipment issued to individuals; sets out uniforms prior to games; properly fits uniforms and equipment; makes minor repairs to equipment as needed.
• Issues locks and lockers to students; maintains records of issuance.
• Receives and stores clothing for subsequent use; sorts and processes clothing for cleaning; inspects clothing and equipment for damage and notes lost or missing items.
• Assists in packing and loading equipment for trips and controls equipment use at athletic events; travels with teams to athletic events as required; launders uniforms for tournaments or when traveling with the team.
• Recommends purchase of equipment and supplies; orders and stores supplies and equipment as needed; maintains proper inventory and related records.
• Learns and applies emerging technologies related to the area of assignment.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of preparing and maintaining athletic facilities and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.
• Materials, supplies, uniforms, and equipment used in team and individual sports.
Methods and techniques to properly launder, repair, and recondition equipment and uniforms.
• Methods of appropriately fitting various athletic uniforms and equipment to provide comfortable fit and adequate protection.
• Basic methods and techniques for setting up athletic equipment.
• Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications related to the work.
• Record keeping principles and procedures.
• English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
• Techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, students, and District staff, including individuals of diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation.

Ability to:
• Demonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
• Maintain inventory and other routine records.
• Perform basic mending and repair of athletic clothing and equipment used in sports activities.
• Evaluate each athlete’s uniform and protective equipment needs.
• Properly fit uniforms and/or equipment to ensure adequate protection and comfort.
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment related to an athletic and locker room environment.
• Set up and take down equipment for various projects and activities.
• Estimate and order required supplies and equipment.
• Learn, apply, and explain applicable District policies, rules, and regulations related to areas of responsibility.
• Make accurate mathematical computations.
• Establish and maintain a filing, record keeping, and tracking systems.
• Organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
• Operate modern office equipment including computer equipment and software applications programs.
• Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing.
• Understand scope of authority in making independent decisions.
• Review situations accurately and determine appropriate course of action using judgment according to established policies and procedures.
• Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade AND two (2) years of experience in an athletic environment with emphasis on maintaining athletic facilities and equipment.

Licenses and Certifications:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must possess mobility to work in an athletic facility and in a standard office setting and use standard office and athletic equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various District and event sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Must possess the physical stamina, strength, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work to arrange facilities and fields for events and/or practices. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate the equipment mentioned above. Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and walk on uneven surfaces to prepare athletic fields and equipment and to participate in athletic activities; and push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects, typically weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally heavier weights with the use of proper equipment. ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
Employees primarily in outdoor environments and are occasionally exposed to loud noise levels, cold and/or hot temperatures, dust, fumes, allergens, and hazardous/moving equipment and machinery.
