JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Generation
• Holds self-accountable for prospecting a minimum of 1-2 hours each day
• Obtains referrals from families served by the location
• Networks and builds community and civic relationships
• Explains and presents presentations to families served and referred families
• Maintains and tracks activity levels to ensure productivity
Build Rel a tion s hi ps with Families
• Responds to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, sensitive and professional manner
• Connects with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern
• Develops an understanding of each family’s unique needs and offers solutions that provide value to them
• Stays in touch with families to ensure satisfaction
• Prepares for all appointments and performs all procedures with professionalism and attention to detail
• Follows through on all customer problems and requests
• Builds trust-based relationships to earn the right to ask for referrals
• Earns the right to gain referrals to offer protection to protect family members, and the family’s relatives and friends, by edu c ati n g them on the benefits of pre-planning
Teamwork
• Represents a continuous link from services provided at need, through aftercare, to providing services to protect families in the future
• Collaborates and tea m s w i th funeral di r ecto r s, l ocat i on ma n agers, and other m embers of funeral ho m e and or ce me tery staff, to provide seam l ess, high qua l ity service
• Thoroughly and completely reviews previous services and contacts with families to prepare to support current needs and or sales
• Shares family concerns with rest of the SCI team
MINIMUM REQU I R EM E N TS
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of college or an equivalent of education and experience
Experience
• High school equivalency and 1-2 years of college or an equivalent of education and experience
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales industry experience preferred
Licenses
• Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Insurance license if required by state/province law and as prescribed by each state board
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be able to pass the Company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire
• Ability to work a number of evenings and or weekends every month
• Ability to drive frequently
• Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance license if required by state/province
• Flexible hours but, at times must have the ability to work up to 12 hours in a day
• Ability to treat others with empathy and respect
• Knowledge of computers and some software
• Customer service skills

• Obtains referrals from families served by the location by following up through visits with families after the service
• Networks and builds community and civic relationships
• Explains and presents Dignity Memorial ® Personal Planning Guide presentations to families served and referred families
• Maintains and tracks activity levels to ensure productivity
• Remains flexible with schedule to achieve results; often works nights and weekends
Build Relationships with Families
• Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with families by connecting with the family, relating to them, resolving their concerns and needs, and committing to follow through
• Responds to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, sensitive and professional manner
• Supports families in time of grief with acts of kindness
• Connects with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern
• Develops an understanding of each family’s unique needs and offers solutions that provide value to them
• Stays in touch with families to ensure satisfaction
• Prepares for all appointments and performs all procedures with professionalism and attention to detail
• Provides service beyond expectations to ensure satisfaction and to form the foundation for future sales based on long-term relationships
• Builds trust-based relationships to earn the right to ask for referrals
• Earns the right to gain referrals to offer protection to protect family members, and the family’s relatives and friends, by educating them on the benefits of pre-planning
Teamwork
• Consistently builds relationships and works cooperatively with the Funeral Director and other funeral home and/or cemetery staff
• Collaborates and teams with funeral directors, location managers, and other members of funeral home and or cemetery staff, to provide seamless, high quality service
• Represents a continuous link from services provided at need, through aftercare, to providing services to protect families in future
• Thoroughly and completely reviews previous services and contacts with families to prepare to support current needs and or sales
• Acts as one team, setting arrangement continuation visits within two to three days after the service
• Shares family concerns with rest of the SCI team

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue Generation
• Responsible for attaining or exceeding monthly sales revenue quota. Applying sales skills, presents Dignity Memorial® Personal Planning Guide electronic power point presentations to consumers informing them of at-need cemetery and pre-need arrangement services and products. Influences consumer on the benefits of pre-planning for a soft close.
• Guides and tours prospective families through cemetery grounds or crematory mausoleums actively listening to needs, asking probing questions, and discussing options. Develops an understanding of each family’s unique needs and offers solutions to meet their needs. Provides service beyond expectations to form the foundation for future sales. Promotes the SCI Brand and service excellence.
• Following company processes and procedures, thoroughly and accurately completes contracts; follows up on outstanding documents and family questions. Provides and walks family through final contract. Addresses final questions.
Prospecting
• Self-initiates leads throughout the community, professional networks, civic, businesses, and organizations by building professional and reliable relationships. Prospects at least 50% of workday such as approaching families face-to-face during events, door knocking, or seminars. Maintains and tracks activity levels in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to ensure productivity, often works nights and weekends
• Obtains referrals from families served through after care visits (ACV).
• Schedules sales appointments. Based on qualifying lead, prepares marketing materials or cultural knowledge for appointments.
Build Relationships with Families
• Establishes and maintains professional and service oriented relationships with families by connecting with the family, resolving their concerns and needs, and meeting commitments. Connects with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern
• Supports families in time of grief with acts of kindness; attends services and/or receptions.
• Represents a continuous link from services provided at need, through aftercare, to providing services to protect families in future
Teamwork
• Collaborates and builds professional working relationships with management and staff to provide high quality services and improve processes
• Shares family concerns with rest of the SCI team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• college coursework preferred
License
• Funeral Directors License where required by state law
• Life Insurance license where required by state law; company will support obtaining licensing
• Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Experience
• Sales experience preferred
• Industry experience a plus
• Previous Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems experience a plus
Skills and Abilities
• Computer and technology skills
• Goal oriented self-starter
• Public speaking ability; comfortable presenting to small groups

• Key stakeholder and partner with SVPS, working with the Sales operations team and marketing team to create and update the monthly, quarterly, and annual sales budgets by location

• Acts as a primary contact/administrator for sales compensation, commission, and ad hoc bonus programs
Marketing
• Responsible for deciding where and what type of leads are given to various locations based on conversion.
• Partner with the Marketing team to make sure we are balancing the needs of the sales team within the Marketing budget.
• Prepare and maintain annual and quarterly sales goals in conjunction with the Sales Operations Team, Marketing, and the SVP of Sales

License
Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Collaborates and teams with funeral directors, location managers, and other members of funeral home and or cemetery staff, to provide seamless, high quality service
Represents a continuous link from services provided at need, through aftercare, to providing services to protect families in future
Thoroughly and completely reviews previous services and contacts with families to prepare to support current needs and or sales
Acts as one team, setting arrangement continuation visits within two to three days after the service
Shares family concerns with rest of the SCI team
MINIMUM Requirements
Education
High school education or equivalent
1-2 years of college or equivalent experience
License
Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
In states/provinces where required, must hold a Funeral Directors License to perform this role
Experience
Sales experience or one to two years industry experience or equivalent education
Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer and technology skills within a sales environment
Ability to work well in a team, as well as independently
Ability to work beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
Good driving record
Good work ethic
High-level of integrity
Creative, outgoing and energetic
Comfortable presenting in front of others
Desire to help others
Bilingual, knowledge of another language is a plus
