POSITION OVERVIEW

Do you want to work in recreational boating? Join this fun industry and help spread the word about boating and life on the water. NMMA has a unique opportunity for a Mid-South Region Sales Manager for the Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow and Atlanta Boat Show. This role is for someone who will manage the sales process to achieve space sales budget goals for the shows. The candidate should be able to develop relationships, service providers, and key recreational marine industry stakeholders. Prospect and cultivate new business opportunities. Work with the budget managers to ensure P&L goals are achieved. Provide on-site event set up and support for the show. You would also be willing to work cross-functionally, be adaptable, and have excellent communication skills.

At NMMA, we connect consumers with the recreational boating industry through our Discover Boating campaign and our Boat Shows. We also serve our members and industry audience through Government Relations, Business Intelligence, and Certification divisions. This role will report to the Show Manager of the Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Exhibit sales, space allocation, customer service and contract negotiations.
• Prospect new customers to increase space sales and revenue.
• Create space sales collateral pieces and customer correspondence.
• Profit and loss accountability, including creating and managing the exhibit space sales budget.
• Develop, manage, and maintain event floor plans.
• Initiate payment and deadline reminders correspondence to exhibiting companies.
• Collecting all contracts and balances.
• Work with the Show Manager to support goals, fulfill responsibilities and functions of the shows.
• Offer support in managing service contractors, including contract negotiations and staffing.
• Involved in developing strategic integrated marketing plans, including print, broadcast and electronic promotional materials.
• Involved in Public Relations strategy including press kits, newsletters and cross-promotion with exhibitors.
• Assist with special events including conception, execution, and promotions.
• Involvement in the marine industry on local, state, and national levels.
• Public speaking and media interviews.
• On-site operational set up for the Mid-South Region events including:

o Support Operations with event floor management.

On-site facilitator of exhibitors’ requirements.

Manage service contractors, labor unions, exposition companies, as well as convention center management staff.

Liaison between exhibitors and show management as well as any other service providers.

REQUIREMENTS/CREDENTIALS:

· Conduct business in accordance with our core values.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred, emphasis on business or related discipline preferred.

· Minimum of five years sales experience, preferably in event exhibitions, or the recreational marine industry.

· Excellent verbal and written skills required as well as negotiation skills.

Job Summary:

The Director of Federal Government Relations will be responsible for developing and executing strategic advocacy and lobbying efforts to advance the interests of the recreational boating industry before the federal government. This position will require a deep understanding of the political and regulatory landscape and the ability to effectively communicate the industry's priorities to key policymakers, lawmakers, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in government affairs, lobbying, and advocacy, with a track record of success in navigating complex legislative and regulatory environments.

The Director of Federal Government Relations will play a critical role in shaping the policy environment for the recreational boating industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced government affairs professional to make a significant impact on behalf of a dynamic and growing industry.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive federal government relations strategy to promote the interests of the recreational boating industry.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key federal policymakers, lawmakers, and stakeholders.

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and identify opportunities and threats to the industry.

Advocate for industry priorities, including policies related to access to waterways, tax and trade issues, and environmental and conservation matters.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association is looking for a versatile, hard-working, talented individual to lead our B2B and B2C experiential marketing efforts. Candidates should possess an exceptional ability to craft engaging and innovative experiences intended to immerse consumers into the multidimensionality of the boating lifestyle.

Primary responsibilities of the role are to develop, plan, manage and execute Discover Boating brand and its Boat Shows consumer experiences. The role will work closely with NMMAs MarCom team, Boat Show operations team, Sponsorship Sales team, Boating manufacturers, Boat dealers, and boating accessories exhibitors to ensure alignment across all consumer touch points. Core functions will include creating and executing brand activations and assisting in consumer and corporate experiential marketing strategy.

The candidate should be an excellent collaborator and planner, with great attention to detail, as well as hold a proven track record of executing comprehensive experiential marketing programs that drive significant brand exposure.
