This role will focus partially on tactical development – working with design, software engineering, project management, etc. to deliver improved solutions across the DE product suite. This role will also be responsible for relationships with technical partners, including facilitating co-development and co-marketing opportunities.

This Senior Product Manager will report into the Director of Product Management on the platform team. While this role will start as an individual contributor, management opportunities are available at the SPM level.

Preferred location for this role is Charlotte (NC). You will have a hybrid work schedule (2 – 3 times a week).

What You Will Do
• Maintains strong relationships with DE’s technical partners – identifying, prioritizing, and executing on opportunities as applicable.
• Owns / manages the roadmap / backlog for technical partnerships & integrations – including work across multiple SCRUM teams.
• Works with product leadership to set up resources (including bringing on contractors and exploring potential partnerships) and define strategy.
• Monitors team output, staying accountable to key results.
• Represents the business needs through defined requirements and priorities for design and engineering teams.
• Represents the needs of educators and students, building them directly into priorities – though collaboration with user research, product marketing, data teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Defines product specific key results (KPIs) and gathers reporting to measure and communicate success.
• Articulates the product strategy and priority of tactics, including expected value, business growth, and direct ties to key results.
• Builds business cases for growth – understanding the market, competitors, and users in depth.
• Leans on strong relationships across the product and broader organization to garner buy-in, pull workstreams together, and leverage internal expertise.
• Provides project management leadership during implementation to ensure coordination of release schedules, communicate status, resolve issues, align resources, and adhere to quality standards.
• Validates tactical viability with various release strategies, feedback forums, and data collection techniques.
• 5+ years product management (or similar) experience.
• Experience working closely with digital designers (product, UI/UX, etc.) and software engineers (both front and back end), ideally in SCRUM / Agile.
• Experience evaluating and pitching business growth opportunities to Senior Leadership.
• Experience assessing market viability across multiple industries.
• Experience with multiple technology stacks / solutions / devices.
• K-12 market expertise / exposure, especially with rostering, identity management, and assessment tools.
• Proficiency in Excel/PPT, JIRA, BI tools, SQL, etc. or similar.

• Possess a high level of responsibility, drive, and self-motivation to meet multiple, overlapping proposal deadlines, refining best practices with every assignment to create maximum quality and efficiency for future bid proposal workflow.

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a role tasked with edtech bid proposals and RFP writing.
• The Senior Manager must be able to show a proven track-record of revenue generation via proposals over the course of their 5+ years of experience.
• Experience managing a team of full-time professionals is preferred.
• Experience in the teaching profession is a plus.
• An outstanding writer and editor, skilled with engaging readers and driving purchasing decisions.

• Create user experience workflow design, screen design, screen layout, wireframes and functioning.
• Prototypes based on established component library.
• Present over-arching program brief and proposed digital strategy to meet program goals to internal account leads and external clients.
• Collaborate with the research team to gain insights into end-user needs and goals to optimize user experience.
• Work collaboratively with team members from curriculum, editorial, learning analytics, design, and technology.
• Incorporate feedback from internal team members and clients to ensure work is in-line with overall briefs, client expectations, and end-user goals.
• Maintain current digital experiences and support on-going graphic production needs.

Secondary: Visual Design Support
• Support brand standards, style guides and design element library.
• Support high quality visual designs, taking the designs from concept to execution with a mobile-first perspective.
• Support visual language approach with iconography, typography, color, and system of visual affordances that work cross-platform and device.
• Partner with front-end developers and create HTML and CSS-friendly designs.
• Create layouts in appropriate software (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) as well as production art to be used in HTML and CSS.
• Present design solutions in context of overall brand solution to internal stakeholders.
• Support the overall creative look and feel of the user interface for web and mobile education services and applications.

• 10+ years of experience in digital design and production for digital platforms. Online work portfolio is required, with an emphasis on elegant, cohesive design systems and showcasing innovative digital concepts and creative design solutions, including the types of work listed above.
