Docker is the leader in the containerization market, combining an enterprise-grade container platform (https://www.docker.com/products/docker-enterprise) with world-class services to give developers and IT alike the freedom to build, manage and secure applications without the fear of technology or infrastructure lock-in. Today’s organizations are under pressure to digitally transform their business but are constrained by a diverse portfolio of applications, clouds and premises-based infrastructures. Docker unlocks the potential of every organization with a container platform that brings traditional applications and microservices built on Window, Linux and mainframe into an automated and secure supply chain, advancing dev to ops collaboration. As a result, organizations report a 300 percent improvement in time to market, while reducing operational costs by 50 percent. Inspired by open source innovation and a rich ecosystem of technology and go-to-market partners, Docker’s container platform and services are used by millions of developers and more than 550 Global 10K commercial customers (https://www.docker.com/customers) including ADP, GE, MetLife, PayPal and Societe Generale.
Docker focuses on SaaS, Cloud Computing, Software, and Virtualization. Their company has offices in San Francisco, Indianapolis, Palo Alto, London, and Paris. They have a large team that's between 201-500 employees. To date, Docker has raised $270.74M of funding; their latest round was closed on October 2018 at a valuation of $1.32B.

That's why we recently launched Docker (http://www.docker.com/) & Docker Hub (http://hub.docker.com), an Open Source tool enabling anyone to run those Linux Containers very easily & a community Hub for the community to organize, share and create images publicly as well as privately. Containers boot 1000x faster than virtual machines; their disk and memory footprint are also much lower; and they work on virtually all current platforms (from physical servers to public cloud instances). We think that they are the future of virtualization, and will soon become ubiquitous.
The Front End Team at Docker is looking for Engineers specializing in UX, UI and modern front-end technologies. The position can be either UI/UX-leaning, tech-leaning or a bit of both. Below are descriptions for the two extremes.
Docker has a strong engineering culture and you will be expected to drive your own time allocation and to make decisions on a daily basis. As a Front End Engineer at Docker, responsibilities include owning the UX/UI across a variety of sites (hub.docker.com, www.docker.com, docs.docker.com, etc), building out a component library that works across all of our sites and pushing our technology forward to build out the future Docker Hub.
Convinced Then fork the repo on github (https://github.com/docker/docker) and have a look at the code. Not convinced Then check the website (http://www.docker.com/), which contains more details, demos, and screencasts. Excited about this Then join our engineering team!
Skills and Requirements
This position focuses on the core JavaScript that runs the Docker Hub and other sites. If building out Isomorphic JavaScript Applications, reusable component libraries (using React) and public SDKs sounds like fun to you, this may be your position.
• Knows JavaScript's type system well and has experience with more sophisticated type systems.
• Has Functional Programming experience (Experience with Lazy Evaluation a plus)
• Is capable of pushing their own limits as well as the limits of those around them to create solutions to problems they haven't encountered yet and may not be googleable.
Preferred Skills
• React, Flux, Backbone
• Isomorphic JavaScript Applications
• Immutable Datastructures and Cursors/Lenses
• Experience with *check testing (Quickcheck, Smallcheck, etc)
• Building SDKs and Component Libraries
• AltJS Languages (ClojureScript, PureScript, TypeScript)
• Open Source Contributions

• Expand your knowledge beyond Hub to our other SaaS services
• Facilitate our SOC2 audit
