The Educational Technology Specialist uses computers, software, networks, servers, and other technology to manage and store data, create new systems and applications, or troubleshoot software errors... They help to communicate the visual identity and branding of the district through graphic design as directed by the Website designer.

In addition this professional, establishes, maintains and repairs computers and digital networks. They may also work with phones, fax machines and copiers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Support instructional design for faculty teaching on-campus and distance learning courses including development of instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques, appropriate integration of instructional technologies and best practices.
• Advises and supports school Principals for the purpose of strategic planning for the development and use of technology education.
• Advises Superintendent regarding faculty and staff for the purpose of developing initiatives and implementation of emergent technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement, Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience
• Be able to complete trainings outside the program when required (may need to travel to other locations).
• A successful candidate must possess strong organizational and analytical skills, be able to prioritize tasks and delegate when needed, and effectively communicate with stakeholders. They should also be adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and budget management.
• Have experience working in a multicultural/rural; Navajo or Native American Preferred.

Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

The Educator Extern spends 6-8 weeks in the Nelnet Business Solution (NBS) organization, specifically within the Information Technology (IT) Department. The Extern learns about the various areas of NBS IT and how they collaborate with and support each other. This position will be immersed directly within a Software Development Team or the Data Analytics Team and will collaborate with the assigned team to deliver a value-added project.
