eSafety is the world’s first government agency solely dedicated to tackling online abuse and keeping its citizens safer online.

eSafety is looking for a skilled mixed methods researcher with a proven track record of working on a range of research projects, engaging with diverse stakeholders and producing high quality research publications. This role supports the development and implementation of eSafety’s research activities, including conducting literature reviews, undertaking fieldwork, and contributing to the analysis, and interpretation of data. You will also assist in preparing high-quality research reports, briefings and presentations and contribute to the development of peer-reviewed journal articles.

You will work alongside an established and expert mixed-methods research team working on projects that inform strategy, policy and programs to address issues such as cyberbullying, parenting in the digital age, and image-based abuse. Our key audiences include children and young people, parents and communities at increased risk of experiencing online harms, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQI people, people with disability and culturally and linguistically diverse people.

Our ideal candidate will be a skilled and passionate mixed methods researcher dedicated to eSafety’s mission of keeping all Australians safer online. This role supports the execution of eSafety’s research activities, including planning and coordination, and contributing to research design, analysis and interpretation of data. You will also assist in preparing ethics applications, writing high-quality research publications, conducting literature reviews, and commissioning research via Commonwealth procurement processes.

You will be a flexible, independent, curious, and exceptionally well-organised individual who is comfortable with problem-solving and multi-tasking. You will have well developed teamwork skills, including the ability to contribute positively within a small, geographically dispersed team.
