Overview
Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized and passionate individual to join our Testing Team as the Electronics Testing Lead, to guide the testing efforts on airborne electronics hardware that are part of our Processing and Communications, Flight Sensors, and Avionics systems (these includes hardware such as the Flight Control Computer, Vehicle Navigation Computer, Vehicle Sensor Computer, Ethernet Switch Computer, etc).As the Electronics Testing Lead you will support the above-mentioned Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in development testing through certification testing by understanding the testing needs, developing custom test capabilities, mentoring and motivating Test Engineers, and root cause analysis of failures. Responsibilities
Coordinate closely with various IPT teams that are part of System Electronics and implement a robust testing strategy to support safety-of-flight and certification testing. This includes:Understanding test requests from various teams, and identifying the right test needed to answer the primary question.Develop a plan that provides clarity on what tests are needed for which company milestone and then align with IPTs.When necessary, identify and build custom Test Support Equipment by interfacing with Equipment Design team.Manage a team of Test Engineers and provide technical direction/guidance. Lead the reporting test engineers with contextProvide technical guidance to the reporting Test Engineers on test plan, test procedure, instrumentation, test automation, data analysis, and test report generation.Ensure team is driven to program short term and long-term goals, ensure team is mission drivenWhile simultaneously keeping in mind the career development for reporting engineers by providing stretch opportunitiesReview the Area Specific Certification plans, Means of Compliance and contribute towards Equipment Qualification Test Plan and Procedures.Work closely with other Leads within the Testing department and contribute towards 5S implementation in the Powertrain and Avionics Test Lab.Continuously improving the safety for Test Engineers and Technicians is part of this scope.EMC / EMI testing will be owned by Electronics Testing Lead.Work closely with Testing Team’s Program Manager and ensure team is meeting the primary goals of the Testing Team: (a) Quality testing-based design feedback in (b) a timely manner. Develop and implement a comprehensive ESD program across Sanmina Corporation's facilities.
Monitor ESD compliance at all facilities and ensure that the program meets the relevant regulations.
Assist in the development of ESD training materials and programs and provide support for ESD audits.
Monitor and analyze ESD performance metrics to ensure the program is effective and efficient.
Track and report on ESD program data to management and other stakeholders.
Maintain up-to-date records of ESD program activities and results.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure ESD program objectives are being met.
Act as a point of contact for all ESD-related inquiries and escalate any issues to the appropriate departments.
Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of the ESD program.
Ensure that all ESD-related processes and procedures are followed.

Key Qualifications
• The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications -
• Deep understanding of transistor device characteristics
• Solid understanding of models used for testing ESD, including HBM, CDM, MM and IEC-61000-4-2
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art ESD circuit design techniques and topologies
• Hands-on experience with design/layout EDA tools, including Virtuoso, Calibre, Allegro, etc.
• Knowledge of ESD checking tools like PERC and Pathfinder
• Experience with Si processes used for high voltage, RF, or advanced ASICs
• Experience with ESD/LUP test and characterization equipment
• Strong initiative, teamwork, and ownership of responsibilities, productive, able to meet bold deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Description
It is your responsibility to:
Define the ESD methodology for all silicon developed by Apple and to specify the chip and IP level ESD requirements
Design ESD protection devices and circuits to meet design requirements
Develop test structures to characterize Si for ESD/LUP properties
Develop design rules based on Si characterization data
Collaborate with foundry on ESD library and ESD/LUP rule development activities
Maintain an ESD device library to support internal and external design teams
Generate or review ESD/LUP testing plans for Apple and vendor ICs
Manage the sign-off reviews with internal design teams, external vendors and foundries
Drive ESD/LUP related debug activities
Education & Experience
BS in a technical area plus 10 years of experience or equivalent.

The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
