Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares and reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
• BSME or BSEE required; MS or Ph.D. preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• PE License Required.
• CFEI or CFI Certification preferred.

Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications:
• 5-10 years’ experience in forensic consulting working with the insurance and legal fields.
• Strong background in fire science and technology, fire protection, etc.; skilled in fire origin and cause investigation with a significant amount of experience in field investigative issues; thorough understanding of industry-accepted fire and explosion standards (NFPA, ASME, ASTM, etc.)
• Experience can range from structural fires to vehicle and heavy equipment fires.
• Some areas of expertise should include the following:
• Fire and explosion investigation
• Natural gas or propane generation, distribution and use
• Fire protection systems
• Test apparatus and fixtures
• Personal protection equipment
• Ability to interact with clients in a professional manner and develop business both internally and externally.

Job Summary...

Provides an increased level of electrical and mechanical technical support on the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
of Fike’s Explosion Protection (EP) product lines. Trains Fike Service Partners and customers on the servicing and rebuilding of
Fike EP Systems. Provides oversight on field service projects, planning and organizing for the installation and maintenance of
Fike EP Systems. Performs onsite support for training, recertification, installation and maintenance services in varying conditions
ranging from 0 to 100° Fahrenheit in ever changing surroundings from coal dust to sterile pharmaceutical conditions. The
complexity of the work at this level requires initiative and independent judgment on matters relating to EP installations. Travels
up to 20% of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Provides prompt, courteous technical support, achieving customer satisfaction through helpfulness and creativity.
2. Must understand applications and respond appropriately in all situations to make recommendations to customer relative to
effective use of Fike equipment.
3. Expected to multi-task with many projects relating to EP.
4. Participates in EP start-up situations or problem job site analysis and serves as consultant in difficult or unusual situations.
5. Pulls together all facts and documentation for site issues and communicates to appropriate personnel.
6. Travels to various facilities as required providing training, recertification and troubleshooting of problem sites.

distribution up to date on current conditions.
13. Authorizes EP returns, assists repair department with analysis and diagnosis.
14. Assists supervisor in defining goals, accessing problems, and offering solutions.
15. Applies knowledge of EP systems and applications to assist in problem solving to both internal and external customers.
Documents issues and findings and communicates effectively to required groups.
16. Ensures resources comply with all customer safety requirements

• Cultivate contacts to maximize business opportunities and participate in trade show.

Requirements
• Five years’ experience business development experience in technical product sales in Fire and Life Safety preferred or in a similar industry. Selling experience of Special hazards fire suppression, or sales of industrial process equipment such as dust collectors, mills, dryers or material conveying is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting technical and sales presentations to end users, distributors, and representatives as well as other influencers.
• Distribution/channel territory development and management experience a plus.
• Understanding of manufacturing process equipment
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred; bachelor’s degree in business or marketing will be considered with equivalent experience in manufacturing process equipment technical sales or a related fire protection discipline and equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able/willing to travel 50% of time by air and auto. Valid Driver License, safe driving record required.
