The Virginia Industries for the Blind (VIB) is an enterprise division within the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) is seeking a Retail Manager I (NOVA Float).

Provide management level support in operations, merchandising and personnel development across all stores in the Northern VA Region for the Retail Sales Division of VIB. This is a floating position which will work across multiple stores as needed to support daily store operations to cover absences (leave), and to assist the Regional Manager in obtaining consistent standards across the stores.

Assist the store teams to achieve merchandising and operational compliance and provide coaching and training to help the employees reach their potential and reports to the Northern VA Regional Manager and will provide feedback to the Regional Manager and Director of Store Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
• Meet Federal Base Supply Store customer requirements in sourcing and procuring products that meet all Federal and AbilityOne requirements.
• Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience supervising or managing in a retail environment.

Ability to:
• Supervise people and use time effectively and efficiently.
• Manage a diverse workforce.
• Skill in analyzing, problem solving and exercising good judgement in critical decision making.
• Interpret and apply AbilityOne, Federal and State policies.
• Working in a retail environment that include but are not limited to excellent customer service skills, effective merchandising, inventory control, store operations, problem solving, store replenishment and point of sales system operations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, internal employees and agency employees.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing a brick-and-mortar retail store.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Experience working in a military environment and / or federal government environment with military and civilian personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience.

Job Duties

The Court Operations Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) is assigned operational responsibilities in a high-volume, fast-paced office with frequent deadlines. This position ensures the court’s instructions are executed and legal documents are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with state and local policies.
