DEFINITION
Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative
support duties in support of the Office of Communications; monitors
and develops content for the College's social media accounts;
researches, fact-checks, and drafts internal and external
communications of a routine to moderate nature; coordinates project

Associate Vice President; provides highly responsible and complex
support to office staff responsible for the development and
publication of college marketing and communications materials and

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This classification is responsible for performing a variety of
specialized technical and administrative support functions for the
Office of Communications. Incumbents are expected to possess
knowledge of writing, copyediting, and proofreading techniques to
develop content for internal and external communications as well as
provide administrative support for the Office including project
workflow coordination, budget administration, and administrative
assistance. This class is distinguished from other Marketing and
Communications classifications by the performance of administrative
support duties.
EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL FUNCTIONS (Illustrative Only)
• Coordinates and monitors the College's social media presence;
ensures social media communications are consistent with established
style, voice, and branding protocols; develops content and
responses for the College's social media accounts; tracks

• Researches, develops, drafts, and edits content for a variety

• Collaborates with and advises others on strategic and effective

materials; makes recommendations for improvement and optimization

• Oversees and coordinates project workflow for the Office;
receives requests from and discusses project objectives, timelines,
and budgets with client departments/offices, consults with
Communications Office staff at appropriate project milestones, and
follows the project through its lifecycle; coordinates appropriate
outreach activities following project completion such as updates to
the calendar of events and electronic billboards.
• Develops general course catalog content; coordinates submission
and compilation of the general course catalog in collaboration with
the Curriculum Office.
• Provides executive assistance to the Associate Vice President
including collaborating on overall direction and daily operations
of the Office as well as program planning and improvement; monitors
the Associate Vice President's calendar; responds to and initiates
meeting requests on behalf of the Associate Vice President.
• Coordinates project, program, and operational budget tracking
and reconciliation processes; monitors and tracks expenditures and
revenues; processes invoices and prepares chargeback documentation;
verifies budget and account codes; develops budget reports as
needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Under the direction of the Dean, Health Sciences and Horticulture, the full-time tenure track instructor and Program Director will be responsible for the administration, organization and supervision of the Paramedic, EMR and EMT programs. This includes oversight of accreditation, continuous quality improvement of these programs. The program director is responsible for validating the competency of candidates, including but not limited to the National EMS certification, conducting EMT level psychomotor examinations and other related certifications. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
• Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate EMS educational program offerings.
• Teach classes for EMR, EMT, Paramedic, Continuing Education, ACLS, PALS, BLS and PHTLS, either on campus or off-site; supervise the activities of course participants during instructional time.
• Evaluate learner performance, provide feedback, and in collaboration with faculty, develop improvement plans.
• Fulfill EMS educational program administrative requirements, to include calculation and submission of grades, maintenance of program, course, and student/participant records, and preparation and submission of data and reports.
• Oversee the program accreditation process, adhering to standards and responsibilities of program accrediting body
• Work closely with clinical instructors involved in the clinical assignments of students.
• Orient, train, supervise clinical and field internship preceptors, and maintain documentation of required training by regulatory bodies.
• Identify and maintain appropriate clinical and field internship agencies and develop internship agreements
• Review and revise, as needed, the annual application to recruit, select, admit, and notify students into the paramedic program

JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Education Assistant supports all Community Education
programs as assigned. The incumbent is responsible for greeting and
fielding questions from community members, customers and students
in a range of settings including the Planetarium, Child Development
Center, Euphrat Museum and other on- and off-site locations. While
typically working Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, the incumbent may
be assigned other working days based on programming demands. As a
front-line customer service agent, door greeter, front desk
attendant and program registration aide, this position operates
entirely as an on-site position serving up to 16 hours each week.
No remote work hours will be assigned.
POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Position reports to the Dean, Community Education at De Anza
College. Twelve (12) month assignment. Flexible schedule required
based on class schedules and locations as well as Planetarium
programming. Doors need to be opened 2 to 3 weekdays per week from
5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on most Saturdays and Sundays. Hours will
vary from quarter to quarter up to sixteen (16) hours per
week.
DUTIES:
• Act as a classroom door opener (travel between Foothill, De
Anza, and off-campus locations required), including evenings and
weekends.
• Assist with registration during peak periods.
• Input student information in Short Courses SI database.
• Assist with customer service via telephone, e-mail, social
media and in-person.
• Prepare class rosters for instructors and delivery of materials
to instructor's classrooms.
• Generate and reconcile instructor agreements for payment of
their services.
• Proofread catalog contents prior to production.
• Assist instructors with walk-in registrations during first hour

Job Summary
This position requires an on-campus presence, this individual works closely with Biology department faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis. NATURE and SCOPE
The Project Manager is the administrator who oversees and directs
the Construction Manager, Design Teams, and the planning, design,
and construction activities related to maintenance, scheduled

KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and coordinate Measures C and G bond capital improvements.
District liaison between the stakeholders, design team, contractors
and other vendors.
POSITION PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Facilities or an
assigned Bond Director, acts as the District's representative to
oversee, plan, organize, and direct work of contractors,
subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and engineers to
plan, develop, design and construct District projects funded by
multiple funding sources. The Project Manager directs liaison
activities between project stakeholders and contractors,
subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and engineers
during the planning, design, construction, and post-occupancy
evaluation phases of specifically assigned capital projects;
ensures that projects are planned, designed, and constructed
according to applicable codes, regulations and standards.
NATURE and SCOPE
The Project Manager is the administrator who oversees and directs
the Construction Manager, Design Teams, and the planning, design,
and construction activities related to maintenance, scheduled
maintenance, and related projects.
KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities are typical but not
limited to the following:
• Direct liaison activities between project stakeholders and
contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and
engineers during planning, design, construction, and post-occupancy
evaluation phases assigned to capital projects.
• Plan, organize, oversee and direct the work of contractors,
subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and engineers to
plan, develop, design and construct projects.
• Oversee assigned Bond projects; responsible for the success of
projects including: safety, financial, quality, scope, schedule,
budget and environmental compliance.
• Ensure projects are planned, designed, and constructed
according to specifications.
• Oversee and direct District and contractor personnel in
planning design, construction, testing, start-up, acceptance and
closeout of assigned projects.
• Represent the District and/or the College at campus meetings
and at meetings with other agencies.
• Assure compliance with the District's Injury and Illness
Prevention Program by providing motivation, incentives, and
discipline to assigned staff; maintain a safe work
environment.
• Create and track a project budget including all related soft
and hard costs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge:
• Uniform Building Code (UBC), California Architectural Barrier

• Construction budget preparation; job cost accounting.
• Legal and practical aspects of project design, bidding,
management, and “close-out” of construction contracts.
• Accepted construction principles and practices as related to
public works, community colleges and schools.
• Methods of purchasing and contract administration in a
community college environment.
• Technical background of different building and infrastructure
materials, components, and systems.
• Methods, practices, equipment, and supplies used in facility
maintenance and construction.
• Building and safety regulations.
• AutoCAD and ERP systems and project management software.
• Business and engineering mathematics.
• Record keeping principles and practices.
• Varying types of skills used on construction projects (i.e.
plumbing, building, mechanical, electrical, fire and life safety,
concrete, steel, and heavy construction).
• Technical processes involved in the planning, design, and
construction or renovation, remodel and new capital construction
projects.
Skills and Abilities:
• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse
academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural

college students, faculty and staff.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including
writing complex proposals.
• Principles of project management and supervision in a higher

• Demonstrated experience with contractors, sub contractors,
inspectors, and other building trades.
• Manage multiple projects and/or an increasingly complex set of
projects.

• Work with regulatory agencies, stringent timelines and
budgets.

• Experience working with labor contracts and/or represented
workforce.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse
academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural
backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community
college students, faculty and staff.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Two years construction management and project management
experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Extensive, progressive construction management and project
management experience preferred.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
• Possession of a California Operators License.
• California registration as a licensed engineer or architect
preferred.

Environment:

work and physical activities.
