Job Summary The Senior Health Communications Specialist (Health Communication Specialist III) is a key position that will lead the development and... implementation of two special initiatives within SMC’s HIV Communication Team. The team supports CDC with the implementation of the Let's Stop HIV Together campaign in the Unites States, along with other projects within SMC. Please note: Eastern Time business hours are required for this position. Key tasks will include: Providing leadership and day-to-day management of two special initiatives: one focused on promoting an HIV self-testing mini-campaign; the other aimed at reaching transgender women. Managing various communication processes and workflows in support of strategic communication needs. Serving as a trusted communication advisor of consumer communication needs, content development, review, and approval. Working closely with the creative development task manager and other task managers to coordinate activities and meet deadlines. Liaising with clients and acting as a main point of contact for all creative requests. Working closely with task managers on message strategy and key message development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Communications, health promotion or related field. 8+ years' experience with strategic communication, health communication, marketing, outreach, public relations, advertising, promotion, or other communications methods required. Excellent judgment and demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with external clients. Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization. Experience working with CDC is not required, but is considered a major plus. Job Summary

The Communications Specialist I will support various communication and marketing activities and will develop and manage communication products within FHI 360’s Social Marketing and Communication (SMC) Department. Specific responsibilities will include development of informational and promotional materials, including fact sheets, brochures, posters, infographics, website content, and digital products for various audiences. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is able to quickly get up to speed on new topic areas and issues.

The Communications Specialist I will support primarily the creative development task within SMC’s Health Communication team. The team supports CDC with the implementation of the Let’s Stop HIV Together Campaign, along with other projects within SMC.

Major Responsibilities:
• Track the development of informational and promotional materials such as fact sheets, brochures, posters, infographics, website content, and other digital content
• Implement promotion plans for CDC products
• Draft initial content for technical review that is accurate, compelling, and audience appropriate. Formats include print, web, and social media content on a range of important and emerging public health topics.
• Work with multimedia designers to create a range of print and electronic products, including brochures, infographics, reports, media materials, and videos.
• Support task managers, project directors, designers, writers, digital strategists, and quality assurance staff to develop a variety of creative and digital assets, message strategy, and key message development.
• Coordinate and manage translation services to translate final products into Spanish.
• Scan resources and summarize best practices and communication research findings to inform plans and audience understanding.
• Coordinate with project team members, vendors, researchers, partners, and clients to meet workflows and timelines.
• Participate in research, writing, and strategy development for health communications projects.
• Contribute to project communications, such as monthly reports, meeting notes, and progress reports.
• Use good judgement to monitor and address issues in a timely manner and keep project management apprised of activity progress.
• Participate in SMC business development efforts, including coordinating proposal teams and assembling proposal sections.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field with 3 or more years’ experience with social media, health communication, marketing, public relations, advertising, promotion, or other communications methods. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working in HIV, sexual health, and/or with marginalized populations (including transgender women) a plus
• Experience supporting communication projects for US Government clients, State, local health departments or health related non-profit organizations
• Spanish-language fluency, both written and spoken, a plus
• Demonstrated knowledge of health communication
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, prioritize, and competently manage a variety of activities with multiple deadlines
• Experience working in a multi-faceted team that includes communication researchers, consultants, translators, and graphic designers
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and collaborative manner with work colleagues and clients
• Motivation and willingness to take initiative and full responsibility for selective activities

Job Summary: A core member of the project team, providing backstopping support to the Crisis Response portfolio and acts as the primary focal point in coordinating grants/project teams from the HQ level. May support start-ups during the emergency phase of a start-up. They will be responsible for ensuring that their assigned portfolio of projects are meeting their deliverables on time, on scope, and are compliant with donor and organizational guidelines. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

EpiC is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, treatment programming and viral load (VL) suppression among key populations (KPs) and priority populations (PPs). In the Philippines, EpiC will work in the Greater Metro Manila Area (Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Central Luzon) to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the HIV response by expanding HIV case finding in the community, upscaling of PrEP implementation, and strengthening treatment initiation, adherence, and retention support for people living with HIV (PLHIV). Further, EpiC Philippines aims to build the capacity of local, community-based KP organizations and work closely with the government of the Philippines to deliver HIV services tailored to the needs of KPs.

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Assist the Program Officer in monitoring the agreed deliverables and completion of indicators of the sub grantees and other partners. S/he will ensure that the activities conducted harmonize and complement with the regional and local operations of GF PROTECTS
• Assist the EpiC sites in establishing linkages with their respective DOH Regional Offices/ CHD, and partner local government units to complement their HIV/ AIDS-related initiatives with EpiC’s activities.
• Provide technical assistance on the participation of the EpiC sites in the Local AIDS Council to lobby for the budget allocation of HIV projects/ activities in the local budget plans including the integration into the Service Delivery Network.
• Assist in the conduct of EpiC project technical assistance provision in the form of meetings, trainings, orientations, and workshops to the sites.
• Coordinate with the Data Encoders for follow up HIV/AIDS reports from sites and partners for proper entry into the national reporting system; and review the submitted reports from sites before submission to the M&E and Program Officers.
• Assist Regional Program Coordinators and Data Encoders on the development schedules for site monitoring visits and data encoding assignments.
• Participate in quality improvement plans which focus on site-level program improvement

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues

Pay Equity and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this role is listed below. FHI Clinical’s pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI Clinical factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, base salary of internal peers, and business sector and budget.

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI Clinical offers a generous retirement plan with a matching contribution equal to 100% of an employee’s elective deferrals that don’t exceed 5% of an employee’s annual compensation. The contribution is 100% vested. Eligible employees may receive an annual discretionary bonus based on personal and Company performance. All exempt/ salaried employees, outside of California, are eligible for discretionary or unlimited paid time off (PTO). PTO is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full-time schedule. Non-exempt/ hourly employees and employees who reside in California accrue PTO. Non-exempt/ hourly employees may carry over 80 hours of PTO into the following calendar year. Employees who reside in California may carry over up to 120 hours of PTO into the following calendar year. The Company offers 10 paid holidays per year. In addition, all full-time regular employees are eligible to receive a bi-weekly Virtual Work Allowance to cover basic office supplies, home internet, or other similar items.
