Job Summary

As a Senior Tax Manager,you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our tax practice. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of talented tax professionals, providing expert tax planning and compliance services, and developing and maintaining strong client relationships. Qualifications
• A minimum of [5] years of experience in tax, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

Our Tax practice seeks an experienced and accomplished tax professional with strong technical skills, leadership capabilities, and experience in providing sophisticated tax planning, consulting and compliance services tailored exclusively to high-net-worth individuals, closely held business owners, and their families, to join our Private Client Services (PCS) Tax team as a Tax Senior. The PCS Tax team provides highly personalized tax and financial planning services to our clients to aid in building, protecting and preserving their wealth and to meet their financial goals.

This is a national practice. The preferred location for this position is the New York area offices. However, the position can take place in any Mazars office with a U.S. location. We also offer flexible work hours and locations: in office and hybrid.

What You Will Do:
• Prepare and review high-net worth and ultra-high net worth individual (1040) income tax returns, gift tax returns (709), trusts/estates (1041), private foundations (990-PF), and some experience in entity returns (1065/1120S) that are often see as part of a family group
• Collaborate on engagement assignments with tax staff in order to achieve goals, maintain productivity, and maximize utilization and realization
• Review the work product of less experienced tax staff on assigned engagements and routinely follow up on open assignments
• Keep supervisor informed of the progress of engagement and address any material issues that may arise
• Conduct tax research using RIA Checkpoint, BNA Bloomberg, and other applicable platforms
• Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS, state and local authorities
• Develop and maintain superior client relationships in the PCS client niche

What We Seek:
• Years of experience required: 3+ years of relevant tax experience at a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice or a family office practice
• Education required: Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field of study is required
• Certification required/preferred: CPA license, EA certification or pursuit of either designation is preferred
• Experience working with family-owned businesses, high net worth individuals and their families, and related wealth transfer issues
• Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite tools
• Preferred working knowledge of CCH Axcess, CCH Access Workflow (XCM), SurePrep, BNA Income Tax Planner and other tax preparation, workflow and research software programs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed

• The salary range for this role takes into account many factors including, but not limited to, years and type of experience, skill sets, and certifications. The projected salary range for this position is $76,000-174,000.
