Reporting to the Director of the Counseling Center, the Counselor is responsible for providing short-term individual and group counseling support to FIT students. This includes providing crisis care, performing risk assessments, offering general student counseling and referrals on academic, career and situational matters...
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
• Work within a stepped-care model of care* to provide short-term individual and group counseling support to FIT students
• Respond to any urgent and critical student concerns, including the need for hospitalization
• Perform risk assessments for students seeking counseling
• Provide intakes for students presenting with a range of concerns (including pre-existing conditions) and make appropriate assessments, external referrals and follow-up outreach
• Provide support and follow-up to administration, faculty, parents and students
• Ability to provide short-term (1-3 sessions) or single-session psychotherapy and develop workshops and programs based on student needs and interests
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting with complex cases
• Provide case management and follow up with referred providers to ensure continuation of care
• Create posts and stories for social media posts and weekly newsletter
• Respond to walk-in emergencies
• Manage disposition planning
• Supervise interns/externs and peer educators as assigned
• Co-manage peer educator program
• Develop and organize workshops and events

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's and Master's required, Licensed clinician (PhD, PsyD, DSW, and LCSW) in NY State required.
• 5+ years clinical experience in a college counseling center or hospital setting required.
• Case management experience required.
• Prior experience providing outreach services required.
• Prior work with adolescents and young adults required.
• Knowledge of community mental health resources and facilities.
• Experience in conducting mental status exams.
• Experience with a wide range of diagnosis, diagnostic assessment, and crisis intervention.
• Sensitivity to multicultural, under privileged, LGBTQ, and trauma issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with college community and to represent counseling center at campus-wide events.
• Experience in inpatient facilities.
• Experience utilizing electronic medical records.
• Experience with substance abuse.
• Experience with DBT techniques.
• Experience working in college mental health setting.

Additional Information:
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment.
Starting Salary: $69,475 (Step 1) to $82,141 (Step 4) per year based on education and cumulative experience. Step increments annually thereafter per Schedule 83.

The Fashion Business Management department is recruiting a pool

Candidates are expected to teach the required 15 week class
schedule, pursue involvement in professional organizations and
maintain industry relationships. Must have excellent communication

diversity, equity and inclusion which aligns with the FIT mission
and standard practices. The ideal candidate will be a creative and
business driven professional with fashion and technological
experience in merchandising, buying, planning, product development,
retail management, retail math and strategic planning. Candidate
must demonstrate leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree plus seven years as an
executive in the fashion industry.
• MBA or Master's degree in a related field or fashion industry
preferred.
MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND WORKING REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be required to constantly read and
comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally
communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working
conditions for this position will be any combination of the
classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required
to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for
this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing,
occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10
lbs. or less.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position
beginning in Fall 2023. Review of applications will commence

department will keep this posting open to create a pool of
candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. The department

The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement

be based on education level and cumulative experience.
Starting Rate: $77.43 per hour with step increments
per Salary Schedule 97, after one year of service and
annually thereafter.
