Participate in student communities to provide advice and review. Foster a sense of excitement in your students and guide them through the pitfalls of becoming a front end developer.

REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated expertise in front end web development. Command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Git and related technologies. Powerful communication skills, with the ability to concisely explain new, complicated subjects to beginners and experts.

Components of the job:

The Senior Frontend Engineer is an essential role within the Engineering Department, reporting to a Team Lead under the Director of Engineering. This position focuses on developing and maintaining the frontend aspect of software applications, primarily using React, TypeScript, and GraphQL. The Senior Frontend Engineer will mentor junior engineers, contribute to software architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and engaging user interfaces.

The Senior Frontend Engineer is expected to be a technical leader, a mentor to peers, and a key contributor to the continuous improvement and innovation of frontend systems and practices within the Engineering Department.
• Frontend Development: Proficient in React or Angular and TypeScript to build robust, scalable, and user-friendly frontend applications.
• Mentoring and Coaching: Guide and mentor engineers within the team, enhancing their skills and knowledge in frontend development.
• Software Architecture Support: Assist the Team Lead and Director of Engineering in the design and refinement of frontend software architecture.
• Code Review and Mentoring: Conduct thorough code reviews and provide mentorship to improve code quality and team skills.
• Design and Implementation: Involved in the design and implementation of user interfaces, ensuring adherence to best practices and user experience standards.
• Problem-Solving and Debugging: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effectively debugging and resolving frontend technical issues.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with backend developers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in frontend development with strong product sense and a keen eye for detail in UI / UX design and implementation.
• 5+ years experience in React or Angular and TypeScript.
• Experience with React Native/Expo and/or Next.js is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern frontend development tools, test libraries (e.g. Jest and Testing Library), and best practices.
• Experience in software architecture design and implementation.
• Proficient in code review, debugging, and problem-solving.
• Strong skills in performance optimization and implementing security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to document complex systems effectively.
• Ability to manage incidents and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest frontend technologies and practices.
• Experience in Startup Environments is a Plus.
• Proficiency in Resolving Complex and Undefined Challenges.
