Operates various sit-down forklifts to load products for shipment by dry van and flatbed trucks. Accurately pick and load correct products and keep accurate records. Interact with Truck Drivers to ensure safety and loading procedures are followed. Participate as an active team member to achieve plant... department, and team goals. Work an early schedule, overtime and weekends as needed.This role may have to work at any one of the mat off-site locations from time to time. Summary This position has the primary responsibility for loading finished goods to GAF customers. Achieve excellence in executing the assigned inventory stocking plans. The scope of this position includes safely driving, loading, unloading, and staging of product in the proper location. Essential Duties Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ● Maintain good customer service with both internal and external customers (i.e. truck drivers, other department team members…) ● Operate equipment (forklift, propane tank, etc.) safely at all times ● Ship material by FIFO (first in first out) ● Ship/shuttle material by Item number and by location ● Verify production according to the Production Verification Check-List. ● Load and unload trucks, and railcars safely ● Handle material safely and without causing damage ● Rework damaged material within specified time ● Hand stack material (safely) when order includes partial items ● Relocate and consolidate material to make adequate space for production using pre-printed relocation sheets and keep track of all transfers ● Maintain forklift by inspecting, recording and reporting any issues immediately ● Maintain good housekeeping at all times ● Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor/Team Leader. ● Complete all documentation per standards ● Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Must be able to drive a forklift which requires sitting for long periods of time, as well as the ability to use your arms and legs to work the controls, brakes and steering wheel. Must be able to work in ambient temperatures. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. • Develop network-wide capital plan and facilitate approval requests (AFCE’s) as needed; ensure the requested funding is consistent with all project requirements so that the approved amount is not exceeded. Partner with key stakeholders (Asphalt Operations Project Engineers, Corporate Engineering, Plant Engineers, Subject Matter Experts/SME’s, etc.) to ensure projects are completed on time and within budgets.
• Drives integration of innovation and continuous improvement into day-to-day manufacturing operations (people, products, and processes).
• Directs process improvement and management of change (MOC) initiatives across Asphalt Operations oxidation plants.
• Responsible for delivering reliable asphalt manufacturing processes. In conjunction with SME’s, develop and deploy methods and processes to transition operations from reactive to predictive maintenance.
• Lead manufacturing operations to achieve run-the-business metrics along with successful execution of high priority initiatives
• Maintains knowledge of current best manufacturing practices and regulatory guidances and regulations
• Communicates effectively, builds relationships and actively partners with other business leaders, customers, vendors and Consultants
• Identifies and implements cost saving measures to contribute to profit optimization.

What part will you play?
• GAF Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor who will manage the production team and oversee material planning, product scheduling and production of the next generation of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products
• You will report to the Production Manager for Manufacturing, and work cross-functionally to support various types of equipment in Manufacturing. You will join a highly focused team that thrives in a start-up, fast-paced environment
• This person will be part of the team that is responsible for manufacturing and delivery of high quality, high-volume photovoltaic solar technology solutions that transform today's roofs. The role will focus on execution/delivery of high volume manufacturing
What will you do?
• Instill a culture of safety, quality, and productivity through direct leadership and coordination of production team
• Hire and develop production associates. Provide feedback, training, evaluation and take disciplinary actions as necessary
• Create and maintain production schedules on a daily and weekly basis that maximizes production efficiency and meets customer demand
• Plan materials needed for production work orders and finished goods shipping to downstream distribution hubs
• Organize and plan production resources to meet production targets, including OT/weekend/Holidays as required
• Define daily tasks and setting focus for the production team
• Collect data and report on production performance indicators and metrics
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve issues affecting production output in a timely manner. Escalate quickly as necessary
• Ensure production processes are carried in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
• Conduct reviews of the production processes to identify areas for improvement
• Maintain a safe and clean production environment
• Lead or participate in activities pertaining to workflow and process improvement
• Develop improvement initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources
• Other duties as assigned
What do we require from you?
• High school diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years as a production supervisor or 5 years as a lead role in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP planning systems. Knowledge of Oracle a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of G Suite a plus
• Familiar with standard manufacturing/Lean concepts and practices
• Understanding of basic statistics and use within the operational environment
• Proficient communications skills: written, verbal, and listening
• Planning and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple priorities
• Planning the production schedule and making sure all necessary materials and equipment are available to the production team when needed
• Ability to quickly assess production issues and establish the best course of action
• Ability to spot problems within the manufacturing line quickly and take appropriate action to rectify.
• Ensure that production team is working in the most time-efficient way and with the least downtime possible, to maintain production output while still maintaining staff safety and product quality
• Ability to clearly and concisely deliver instructions to the production team.
• Familiar with using Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
• Experience in manufacturing expansions and ramp up a plus
