The Construction Manager will work under the direction of the assigned Project Managers to direct the overall Construction on major paper industry construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
• Develop job scopes for construction activities. There will be times the CM is expected to draft scopes of work.
• Partake in larger construction bid scope reviews
• Conduct construction review meetings/schedule reviews
• Develop and manage punch lists
• Fill out QA/QCS (alignments, commissioning procedures, flush procedures, etc.)
• Organize Lotos, line breaks and confined space entries
• Assist with contractor mobilization and demobilization
• Provide construction progress updates
• Maintain a set of drawings for construction, verify contractor is working off latest revisions for proper drawings and specs.
• Work shifts and weekends as needed to support a successful project.
• Perform routine walkdowns of job site several times per day and communicate with contractor supervisors. The project needs to dictate your time in the field or in the office as needed.
• Maintain a list of construction deviations vs. design plans
• Review installation plans for constructability purposes
• Coordinate construction activities and timing
• Lead pre-planning activities for construction implementation
• Interface with vendor representatives and be their primary installation contact
• Communicate construction plans to area operations and maintenance personnel and project mgr
• Manage FCNs (Change Orders) timely and communicate needs to project manager
• Pre-Arrange construction management coverage during times of absence
• The PM should be informed, and the team should determine how to best provide coverage.
• Support and be the key construction coordinator for outages
• Review daily, weekly and monthly look ahead work plans with contractors
• Make sure contractors are properly tooled for their work scopes
• Review contractors staffing plans
• Make sure contractors have the installation materials and equipment needed for the job
• Make sure contractors are maintaining proper housekeeping in break areas, parking areas, fabrication areas and of course the job site)
• Make sure new equipment and materials are properly stored for weather and potential trafficking hazards (ie, freezing issues with soft parts or chemicals, contamination of sensitive equipment such as electrical panels , rusting of steel components, contamination possibilities with items such as hydraulic tanks-piping-fittings). Store in areas that nearby traffic won’t damage items or provide protective measures such as barricades.
• The CM will have support from a logistics lead, however the management of this task and oversight is in the responsibility of the CM.
• Know where the project equipment and materials are stored
• Help coordinate the pre planning and receiving and offloading of contractor’s rental equipment. Know where this will be delivered to (laydown plan).
• Review, Monitor and communicate potential work conflicts between projects and maintenance and operational activities (overhead work, crane conflicts, shared spaces, hot work, etc.)
• Monitor & approve time sheets. Interface with internal audit group as needed.
Safety
• Issue Hot work permits and coordinate in your absence
• Manage housekeeping and completion sign offs
• Become knowledgeable of key area contacts for safety, maintenance, operations, security, and store’s and shift maintenance, fire protection coordinator, environmental.
• Coordinate asbestos and Lead testing and abatement activities with contractors (Acadia)
• Manage construction related safety and environmental incidents
• Make sure contractors understand and abide to mill safety rules (ie, overhead work, confined space, hot work, fall protection, etc.)
• Make sure construction debris is properly disposed of ( no oil in equipment, hazardous materials, recycling materials correctly)
• Make sure contractors are using proper PPE
• Make sure contractors understand our smoking policies
• Make sure contractors have our safety guidelines document (distribute cheat sheet)
• Make sure contractors are up to date on orientations (check with security, Jennifer Briggs or designate if needed)
• Conduct safety audits including Loto’s
Procurement & Materials Handling
• Process minor stockroom items as needed and stock room tickets
• Entering Requisitions for minor materials or service requests in SAP
• Be able to search for stockroom items in stores
• Have knowledge of contractor sourcing contact vendors (piping, electrical, construction materials, civil supplies, steel suppliers, dumpster suppliers, etc)
• Have contacts for local fabrication resources (Berlin foundry, D&G, Etc.)
• Know where to dispose of all debris types (concrete, steel, insulation, etc)

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance or related
• MSA, MBA, CPA and/or CMA certification preferred
• 7+ Progressively responsible experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting experience
• Demonstrated understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) a plus
• Exposure in related areas such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury/Cash, Fixed Assets, Inventory, etc.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast paced, changing environment
• Extremely detail oriented with strong staff and process management/improvement skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills along with the ability to develop relationship across the organization.

Job duties include but not limited to:

• Provide analytical, technical and administrative work in the design and installation of new and existing personal computer systems, printers and RF scanning systems in accordance with existing End User Computing (EUC) processes.
• Responsible for analyzing and solving personal computer-related problems, printer problems, end device RF scanning and other peripheral equipment. Includes contacting vendors for support when necessary.
• Maintain standard documentation to support all EUC related processes.
• Install, configure and test new and re-issued personal computers under the current EUC imaging standards.
• Maintain accurate information and data regarding end-user issues, new personal computer installs and the re-issue of personal computers in the appropriate tracking systems.
• Assume ownership of Service Desk support tickets and respond quickly with timely follow through to resolution.
• Maintain compliance with software licensing and inventory as prescribed by the corporate standard.
Degree Requirements:
• Graduate of or student in IT Related program or technical field.
Skills/Competencies Desired:
