The Carbon MRV Manager is a key role within the Sustainability Policy & Engagement team at Indigo. This person is responsible for managing the implementation of MRV (monitoring, reporting, and verification) activities for Indigo’s carbon offset projects globally. Activities include managing registry relationships, managing project tasks and timelines, creation of detailed tracking tools, management of project reports and supporting documentation, and management of verification activities. The Carbon MRV Manager will support the rest of the SPE team, as well as Science & Modeling, Operations, and Product teams. This person must be highly competent in working across teams, as well as working in a software development environment where clarity of requirements, as well as documentation of everything, is non-negotiable.

The position may be filled remotely (within the United States), but ability to work regularly in Boston or Memphis is strongly preferred.

Key Outcomes
• Team Leadership:
• Lead the planning and execution of MRV team projects and responsibilities
• Supervise a team of 1-3 MRV staff
• Support annual planning and budget preparation around MRV activities
• Project Development:
• Daily coordination and communication with the Technology and Science teams at Indigo in the development of system infrastructure and capabilities to support carbon projects
• Manage multiple carbon offset projects across multiple registries
• Conduct research, data gathering, and analysis to support development of new carbon offset projects locally and internationally
• Preparation of project design documents (PDDs), monitoring plans, and other formal documentation in support of carbon offset projects
• Reporting:
• Become competent with all reporting processes, including use of LaTeX for report development.
• Project manage the documentation and data submission for crediting project(s)
• Program Expertise:
• Demonstrate familiarity with all relevant programmatic requirements of the Climate Action Reserve and Verra, as well as the specific reporting requirements of the CAR Soil Enrichment Protocol and the VCS VM0042 and VMD0053.
• Work with others to integrate protocol updates into the project documentation and data packages, and communicate potential needs for registry guidance.
• Support on process optimization in the Carbon by Indigo program.
• Validation & Verification Process Ownership:
• Manage validation & verification processes from contracting through to successful completion
• Project manage the registry processes, submission of data and documentation, conducting site visits and live meetings, and responses to findings
• Coordinate resources across other teams as necessary to execute validation and verification activities.

Key Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with carbon project development, reporting, and verification
• Experience managing full-time direct reporting employees, as well as external consultants and contractors.
• Proficient in the following products: Microsoft Office (esp. Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Overleaf, Github, and Looker. Some experience with programming languages (Python) preferred.

This event will bring... together more than 250 faculty, administrators, journalists, employers, researchers, and state leaders within the postsecondary CTE field.

Indigo Events seeks a consultant with strong content knowledge in one or more of the following areas: postsecondary CTE, postsecondary degree attainment, economic development, equity in higher education, and/or workforce development, preferably on a national level. The Program Consultant will join the event production team, Indigo Events, to design and implement the programming for this convening. The consultant will also work closely with the Indigo Events’ client, ECMC Foundation, on overall themes and messaging.

The purpose of the convening is to provide event attendees with a greater understanding of postsecondary CTE and build connections and inspire collaboration across cohorts and programs. As a result of their participation in the convening, attendees will be able to articulate the postsecondary CTE issues and opportunities that exist across program areas, learn how to utilize their network to collaborate on projects, and understand how to obtain support to accomplish their goals.

Expectations

Pre-Event
• In tandem with Indigo Events, create a comprehensive timeline detailing the programming milestones to be met in preparation for the convening
• Reviewing past convening materials (blogs, sessions, agendas, and survey results)
• Design programming for the CTE Leadership Collaborative Convening that is engaging and relevant for all in attendance
• Determine session topics and formats and outline event theme(s)
• Curate panels, identify speakers, manage speaker invitations, and coordinate speaker involvement; Including tracking all outreach and confirmed programming assets and briefing documents
• Identify relevant pre-readings
• Work with Indigo Events to prepare on-site materials
• Participate in regular check-in calls with Indigo Events
• Participate in regular check-in calls with ECMC Foundation staff, Indigo Events, and LC grantees
• Maintain event programming budget
• Work with Indigo Events to coordinate speaker and facilitator travel and logistics

Onsite
• Co-facilitate the CTE Leadership Collaborative Convening with Foundation Program Officer
• Participate in onsite speaker briefings with Foundation staff and Indigo Events
• Oversee onsite programming and speaker logistics

Post Event
• Compile post event programming materials
• Develop survey to assess participants’ satisfaction with the convening
• Send thank you notes to speakers and other program-connected guests
• Analyze the survey results
• Attend a post-event debrief with the program team and client/ECMC Foundation

Eligibility

Any consultant or organization with a commitment to postsecondary education, facilitation, curriculum design and/or background in leadership development is eligible to submit a resume and cover letter. ECMC Foundation Fellows are not eligible to apply.

The selected partner must be:
• Available to attend the CTE Leadership Collaborative Convening the week of September 18 in Denver, CO.
• Able to work remotely for all planning
• Willing to comply with Covid-19 protocol as requested by the venue or Foundation, including wearing a mask or showing proof of vaccination
• Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement and NDA

Timeline: The deadline to apply is 5:00 PM (PT) on Friday, March 31, 2023. Applicants will be notified by Monday, April 10.
