We are now looking for an ambitious Lead for Quality... Improvement to provide subject matter expertise in Quality Improvement and the ability to steer and manage the Quality Improvement Team.
• To be the trust-wide subject matter expert for Quality Improvement
• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Quality Improvement team, ensuring the team works collaboratively to deliver quality improvements across the organisation.
• Develop and implement effective quality improvement strategies, in line with national and local standards and requirements, to ensure that the trust continues to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Provide expert advice and support to Directorates in the identification, prioritisation, planning and delivery of quality improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including patients and staff to ensure that quality improvement initiatives are aligned with their needs and expectations.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in quality improvement and best practice and ensure that the trust is at the forefront of quality improvement initiatives.
• Take responsibility for our systems and processes for continuous quality improvement
• To lead, role model and build the momentum for Quality Improvement throughout the organisation
• To co-ordinate the Quality Improvement Teams efforts to ensure we are fulfilling our ambitions set out in the Quality Strategy and meeting the timescales set out in our Quality Improvement operation plans
• Be the central point of contact for coordinating and managing quality improvement both within the Trust and externally to regulatory organisations and professional bodies
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. We are the largest centre in Europe for the care of inherited cardiovascular disease in children, looking after over 6,000 outpatients per year, and are part of the UCLP Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases service. The service at GOSH is part of the Cardiac Unit at Great Ormond... Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and includes disease-specific clinics for cardiomyopathies, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, aortopathy syndromes and rare diseases with cardiovascular involvement. Families are seen at Great Ormond Street for screening, diagnosis, evaluation and management.

The Fellow will contribute to the investigation and management, including the use of novel and emerging therapies, of all patients referred with inherited cardiovascular diseases. The majority of the work involves assessment and detailed investigation of the children and their families, including echocardiographic studies (after suitable training, if required) and ECGs. There will be ample opportunity for clinical research leading to a higher degree. The Fellow team comprises 3 clinical fellows, rotating 4-monthly through the cardiomyopathy, inherited arrhythmia and aortopathy firms, in addition to visiting fellows and clinical research fellows.
The Fellow will liaise with other departments such as metabolic medicine, neuromuscular, rheumatology and clinical genetics. They will work closely with the electrophysiology team given the need for cardiac device therapy in carefully selected patients and the transplant team as some children may eventually require this form of treatment.
